I've had good luck with DuView attachment 358376View attachment 358377ralast Gold batteries. Of the two I purchased back in the late 90's, one lasted about ten years and the other is still in service (14 years +). I think I wrecked the ten-year-old one by too-rough cross country driving - shorted a cell by stirring up the sediment. The 14 year old one is in my old F150. It still cranked and started well in about 20F weather on its last start.
I have never used a trickle charger. With the boat batteries, I just disconnect them. The riding lawnmower battery is a small car battery and I disconnect it and leave it in the mower. Right now it is under 3' of snow. Inspring I will pull the caps off and check to see if it/they are frozen before I put the charger on.Kinda off topic but have you guys ever used those maintenance chargers. The trickle chargers you put on like a boat battery in the winter when you store your boat. Ive ruined 2 batteries using those things. What do you guys do when putting up a battery for the winter.
. Never cranked so good!!
