Grew up an Eagles fan in SE PA and now a Texans / Cowboys fan in East TX. I don't like the Patriots either. However, the number of head, offensive, and defensive coaches that learned under BB and who are now scattered throughout the league is just amazing.

Some of the credit has to go to Bill Parcells.

I'm sure he has favorite charities...(part of the big money game) but I don't see him doing things like Warrick Dunn or J.J. Watt have done and are doing...

BTW...Derek Jeter is no saint...people in Tampa have know what an *** he is in real life for a long time...!

JJ W is incredibly generous with his fortune and time. Something others in his position should aspire to be like. Another example is PK Subban. Google his pledge to the children's hospital in Montreal.

Tom had a great career and was a great, great player but I hope for his sake that he hangs it up. At his age and with his accomplishments why risk playing longer? Great competitor!

I aplogize, but being a die hard eagles fan, which I'll admit makes no sense, my favorite picture of Brady...

Yeah, the birds only won one, but man was it sweet.

Don’t apologize, it’s just a stinkin’ game, it isn’t like it’s life or death.

The reality is as a grown man with a family who works hard, after the Eagles won their superbowl, I was screaming like an idiot that night. Thing is, for whatever reason, the time spent as a child watching the birds on TV "imprinted" on me that I like to know what they're doing. Keep in mind, in my 20'a or 30's, if I watched one football game a year, I'd be lucky LOL

However, I do take more pride in watching my boys track event or my others piano recital (well, he's never had one, but he has gotten good listening to him in the years he's been taking lessons).

What I find funny is how sports is so much "life and death" to people who have absolutely no say in the game or even work in the "game". I ask guys who are die hard college fans if that's where they went to school, and the answer is generally no. I mean why put so much even into a college team where you didn't attend?

The added reality is Tom Brady is a MUCH better athlete than myself. I'm making fun of him for dropping one pass in a superbowl, but how many superbowl rings has he won?

I"m not a sports fan as you can tell, yet I do like to see Boston go to the playoffs in football and baseball. I also see a lot of benefits to have your kids play team sports in school. However, if we can't joke about it such as in the pic which you posted above then we're taking it too seriously.

OTOH I'm thankful that I decided not to post what I was thinking a few months ago in the "Who will make the playoffs" thread... I almost mentioned that the question should be who would be playing against the Patriots. Oops.

Likewise, my mothers FAVORITE sports "star" of all time was Bobby Orr (who would know who that is?).

Ironically enough, a customer of mine mine for the last 20 years since I lived in NC, played professional hockey with Bobby Orr, and even has his picture "professionally" taken with him (Mr. Orr) on the ice (ironic that this one man now in NC would "spawn" mulitplie companies from his employees years later in the HVAC business).

My boys could never understand the excitment I have for that picture. The excitment on my endd is not for Bobby Orr or my friend who played with him (now living in NC), it's for my mother.

For the record, I hate hockey, really don't care much to watch it, but I will ALWAYS love Bobby Orr due to my mother. No different than "loving" Bill Bergey watching him play at the Vet playing football. I don't care much for pro football, but I will always follow the Eagles or my alma mater from college because of my youth experiences.

THAT'S what's hard to explain, the ""imprint" my mother (family) had on a sports figure in professional sports.

Anyone playing a "game" does nothing for me financially, so why should I care what game they play?

Per the subject at hand and Tom Brady, who here does it really affect how Tom Brady plays in the professional football league?

Note, all one has to do is look to the idiots who are looking for a replcaement at Mississippi state for Joe Morehead to see how out of wack sports can be in a normal persons mind.

Sports = big bucks. Remember that...
