COO = country of origin

What wire was it that you were selling for $55, for future reference.

Ill grab a pic for you.

I know mine is definitely not a Bernard. It has an open back where the whip goes into it. Its just like the one on my 130xp only bigger. Nothing like the Bernard Q guns we had at work.

Bernard is part of ITW like Miller.. I wonder if there is some weird branding going on there? I always thought the stock guns on the smaller machines were branded Miller, ie: M-25? Bernards are stock on the larger, heavy duty machines like the feeders I think

Miller is bundling the Bernard guns with some of their welders. I just traded my Passport which had an M10 gun for a Multimatic 200 that comes standard with a Bernard Q150. Nice upgrade. Wish it used the same consumables.

Do you plan on doing any spray transfer welding with your new machine?

If you ever decide to, if I read the spec sheet correctly on your machine it will only put out 28-volts. I've only used C/10 and I had to go up to 29-volts. You may want to try an argon oxygen mix, like 99% argon & 1% oxygen, or 98% argon & 2% oxygen. I understand with the oxygen mix you can hit spray transfer with lower volts.

Spray is nice, but getting gas will be the issue.

Id likely need the 02 boost to get into spray like you said. Im not even sure my LWS even stocks it, so it'll likely be special order! Ill ask the next time im out. Not really worth me taking out a lease just to play with spray when short circuit will do everything I want, plus I think my gun might be a bit on the light side to run spray for long. I might be able to get a loaner bottle of it i they have a part bottle on the shelf to play with it for a weekend, theyve loaned me part bottles before. They treat me pretty good!

The wire that was $55 was Uni-Braze. They sold lots of it. It's made in China but for $15 a roll cheaper, it works just as good.

Personally I don't think spray is worth all the trouble for the home shop. The metal has to be really clean! It is hard on the equipment! After running just a few beads the contact tip on my 200-amp Mig gun was so soft I could bend it with my hand no problem.:shocked:

Yes but it is fast and IMO beautiful. I only used it in a demo but was mighty impressed.

She is fast! I'd like to see a side by side comparison in a 40-hour work week with dual shield. I always liked the look of dual shield.
