This thread cracks me up because I've done it on numerous occasions. That and a number of other "forgettables".
The "reminder" methods are very helpful though.
So this is what I've done, and if not me, my wife too. We are both tards.

-Driven the tractor off with the solar charger still plugged in?
-Driven the ATV off with the solar charger still plugged in?
-Even driven the tractor off after taking the backhoe off the 3pt but forgetting to unhook the hydraulic PTO pump...snapping th hyd hoses.
-Other stuff like driving off and forgetting to turn the fuel "on".
-Driving off with the parking brake on?
-How about forgetting to raise the 3pt and grading your storage shed floor with the boxblade that was on it?

Maybe the answer for me is to lock the keys away so I can't get to them?

Yeah? So? These all seem like normal occurances to me:rolleyes: Instead of locking the keys up, perhaps we need a "personal attendant".:)

Well, down here in Texas, we rarely have use for block heaters. (Of course, it's just over 20 degrees right now, so maybe I should keep my mouth shut...)

My "oops" was even more stupid, and (17 1/2 years later) my wife still reminds me about it on a fairly regular basis... When my daughter was 6 months old, I was dropping her off at my sister's house for a play-date as I was on my way to work. I strapped her into the car seat, realized I didn't have her security blanket, and went back inside to get it. Of course, I left the back door of the Toyota mini-station wagon standing open while I ran in. I have no explanation for what happenned when I came back out... I jumped in the front seat, tossing her blanket in the back seat, and backed out of the garage. Well, almost. The back door hit the brick pillar between the two garage doors, and folded neatly, shattering the rear door's window, and deforming the door so it would not close... Tears from the kid  (scared by the loud noise), a few choice words  from Dad, and LOTS of laughter from Mom. :D

Every time I move the tractor in or out of the garage, I get to hear "Don't forget to fold the roll-bar. You know how you are with garages..." The worst part is, I can't say a thing!

Simple just go here and get the Auto Eject
AutoEject

Now would you just look at that, In a couple of weeks we are going to hang 11 cord reels in a new firehouse and the fire chief wants to work with us to "TRY" and make the short pigtail connector for each vehicle the weak link in the connection. This could be the answer.

Thanks David

yea those autoejects are sweet, my uncles has them on all his dump trucks casue his employes are stupid and my dad is a firefighters and they have them on the trucks there. i wanted to put one on my truck but they are kindof expensive for just a personal truck. i actaully just made the cord on mine long enough to be pluged in and if i forget about it o well cause it will pull itself out and it it wont rub on the ground.

Hang your key next to the wall outlet.

You mean people pull their keys from vehicles at home? I'd never know where mine were. I do pull my pickup keys... and lay them on the center console.. because I often turn the key back to accessory instead of off. Other than that, the keys stay in the ignition at home... but my nearest neighbor is a mile away and our dogs can be downright scary.. even though they have never hurt anything....

My best friends mom was on her way out of the garage on her way to teach school and didn't wait for the door to get all the way up , no more door and alot of damage to an almost new car. That sure ruined the door, part of her car and the rest of that day for sure.
