Forcast this morning for my area ... thru Sunday, sunny with the Sunday high of 70 degree's and wind up to 45 mph, then MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY highs of 32 degrees, predicting rain, ice, snow .... each day!!

Suppose I will fill the generators, feed the cows heavy... stock up on support for my habits and just put my foot in the stirrup and ride it out!!!!

The worst will be if we get heavy ice ....

We don't need another ice storm like we had last year. I'm rural out be Skiatook lake and we were some of the last ones to get power back. But, if it does happen this year, I'm ready. 20 gallons of gas for the genny, tractor is full and have 10 more gallons of diesel and a cord of firewood.

77 degrees this afternoon, now at 7:35 p.m. 47 degrees, just as the weather man said. They now predict light rain by midnight with possible ice by sunrise ... ready or not ...

We were officially at 77 degrees at 6 p.m., 69 degrees at 8 p.m., and 43 degrees at 9 p.m.; dropped 26 dgrees in an hour. And after 77 today, they forecast for tomorrow is a high of 33. I had walked out on the patio a little after 7 p.m., very pleasant with a pretty good south breeze, but I just now went out in the cold north wind to move a table and chairs off the patio so they don't get blown away.

But at least so far we don't have the ice storm they have in the northeast.

22 here this morning and still very strong North wind, they say the high for us today will be 29, I know for some of you thats not bad ... we just are not geared for these extremes ..... no moisture yet, they say maybe this evening.

Yeah, they had forecast a low of 29-30, but now say it's actually 24 at the airport just north of us; north wind 21 mph, gusting to 31. But they've taken the moisture out of the forecast until a 30% chance tomorrow morning.

I think (hope) we finished up our Christmas shopping yesterday, though; even filled both vehicles with gas, and we have an ample supply of groceries and coffee in the house, so we should be comfortable as long as we don't have a power outage.:D

I loaded the cows up with hay yesterday afternoon when it was about 80 degrees. I even put their hay bales much closer to the woods so they wouldn't be out in the heavy, cold winds that were predicted. They looked at me like I was nuts THEN, but this morning I see they're all down by the woods, out of the cold north wind, eating that hay! Woke up to 23 this morning and I'm really hoping that possible ice tomorrow morning never happens. High today only going to 32 they're saying. With that steak restaurant we have, the wife definitely has to go out in/on it and so do I, unless it gets REAL bad, which I don't want to see happen anyway.

Unclebuck ... I did the same late after the grandkids went home, put out plenty of hay in the tree line, thinking I have it covered for the cold days ahead ...WRONG, this morning at daybreak I can not see any cows!! All bundled up I take the gator and go for a search ... NO COWS!!

Well I find they found a ravine, the fence high enough from the bottom of that ravine and they have escaped to the neighbors, we have an agreement, when I have mine in a certain pasture they put there's in a different pasture in case the bulls decide to fight thru the fence ... THANK GOD, because mine are now on his pasture at least they are not mixed together.

Long story short ... since about 8:30 I have been gathering cattle with the JD Gator, they are now in the lot ... and will go to the East Pasture this afternoon ... I think I'll fix fence.... well maybe later !!!

4:33 never broke 30 degree's today, currently a light coat of ice, sleet fallening. weather man states should not get more than a 1/4 inch ... still waiting for the wind to subside alittle.

Yep, it got up to 29; never made it to 30 and back down to 26-27 now. But it's still dry here with a north wind, 23 forecast for the low tonight with a 20% chance of freezing precipitation.

And just for the fun of it and to get out because I was a bit bored, I drove up to Walmart this afternoon about 2 p.m. to pick up just a few grocery items, and to see how many dummies, besides myself, would be out in the cold north wind, and the Walmart was busier than ever.:D

It made it to 13 degrees today where I am at. Calling for snow tomorrow.

Been fun feeding and checking cattle the last 2 days. We so far are missing the ice coating. Schools closed to the north and to the south because of lines of frozen precip that went thru. I was as ready as I could get for another major ice storm.:( Feed in the box, 500 gallons of diesel in the tank, in case I needed to run the pto gen. and plenty of propane. So far it looks like a non event:D.
The wife's '03 F150 apparentely does not like cold. The auto trans acted up as she tried to leave for work and then the check engine light popped on. Traded her vehicles and have an appointment to get it checked this afternoon.:(

Well the wind finally calmed and at this time its 25 degrees. We did get a very light coat of ice, making it very difficult to get around. Alot of Hwy's closed and A bunch of schools as well as some business's .... forecast looks real good.

We had probably 1/2" of ice on everything here after it was all over with. I noticed going into town yesterday that Skiatook didn't get any ice but we sure did out by the lake. (lake area affect)

It's still 23 here, but the north wind has died down to 4 to 6 mph and the forecast is that it might get up to 31 today and tonight, and then 50 tomorrow. There's supposedly some freezing drizzle in some parts of the county, but I haven't seen any yet.
