I have not really tried them when it is really dark out, only when pulling into the garage they seem light the down by the front tires and outward.

I don't have a 2450, but I do have a 2400 TLD and can tell you the work lights are adiquate and probably better than most... however, if I worked in the dark a lot, I'd want some mounted to the top of the ROPS or something. I cleared a large brush pile yesterday and leveled the dirt last night (in the dark...) and the lights worked better than I thought they might. I was def wishing there were lights mounted higher though. More often than not, the FEL gets in the way of the light.

I've been talking to one of my Cub dealer buddies, I guess this is the first Cub cadet to handle the loader/backhoe/mower all at once. They re-designed the 2450 a bit stronger to handle the stresses.

Can anyone back this up? I have the "regular" 2400 TLD and have, in person, compared the 2450 to the 2400 and can't see any noticable "beefing up". All I see is the foldable ROPS, reversible seat, and of course, the back hoe. Now, I'm not saying they didn't change something... I'm just saying I didn't notice anything different.

Here are a couple pictures of a 2400 and 2450... see if you can see anything different in the frame. It looks the same to me.

I'd have to agree with Hozen that more often than not, the FEL gets in the way. They are a nice feature though but nothing can beat lights mounted on the rops, or somewhere higher up. I have the 2400 and it works fine for what I need it to do. I'd have to get a bigger tow vehicle first before I got a bigger tractor. One thing I don't like though is the position of the rear axle filter. I'm looking at a way to make a guard for it as I'm always thinking about it when I'm in the woods as I worry about a log or something hitting it.

I think they beefed up the frame & rear transmission area to accommodate the stresses of the rear mount backhoe. The former models used subframes to absorb the stresses throughout the subframe and under the length of the tractor. In order to get the mower on as well, they had to redesign the hoe w/o the subframe and beef up the rear mounting/frame area.
At least, that is what I was told!
I agree, there is no obvious changes to the appearance. Perhaps looking underneath/back of machine the "alleged" changes should be viewable....
I've got an older generation Cub with the subframe backhoe, works for me so far.
Nice to see Cub is keeping up with the times/advancing technology to go head to head with the bigger names.

Hozen ;
Is that your 2400? Is that another set of lights on top of the grill guard?

Definitely 2 nice machines......!!

No, that isn't mine. It's just a picture of one I pulled off the web. Mine has the grille guard though (Got it free :D) and what you are seeing is just a white product sticker that is on it. No lights.

I can see them adding something to the rear to acomidate the backhoe. I know the 3pt hitch is an option on the 2450 (obviously standard on all 2400's). I wonder if the parts could be ordered to make a 2400 "backhoe ready"? I kind of wonder if its just a set of HD brackets.

When I bought my 2400 I asked about a backhoe option and I want to say I was told that one of the woods backhoes would fit right on it. My salesman didn't mention anything about needing to beef it up. I wouldn't think you would need to do to much as if I remember correctly, the JD 2305 can handle a backhoe and the 2400 is a similar machine.

Both sets of lights are in the hood. One pretty much above the other one except the lower set points out more. Post 8 gives you an idea of how the lights are setup.

Congratulations. And your yellow hydraulic cap came lose

When I first got my 2400, I stuffed those caps up underneath pretty good. I'm thinking of zip tieing them as to me, they hang to low. I'd hate for them to catch something and get ripped off. I'm sure they are pretty cheap to replace, but I'd hate to keep having to replace them. I also thought about just taking them off but then I would probably loose them. Although it isn't like I'll be taking my loader off anytime soon.

the lights on the hood are better than any other tractor like this
But as I have the Cab its got lights on the top for the front
I mounted an old tractor fender light on the roll bar looking back

and the Hyd caps I gave up on em tore a lot of em apart gave up replacing and just use some cheap paper shop towels and rubber bands
