Re: It\'s tree removal time!

I'm gonna wait awhile on gettting my burn pile to actually burn. Today was spent knocking dowm more trees and brush.

This part of my property is in the 100 year flood zone. It is also next to a year round creek. The brush isn't too tough, but it's very thick.

Here's the view I have pushing it into piles.

The branches do fight back, and here's one trying to take off one of my hoses!

Re: It\'s tree removal time!

With that type of brush I have a hard time pushing together a pile that doesn't include dirt. Tough to burn when full of dirt.

I have heard that a brush rake would make the job much cleaner.

Re: It\'s tree removal time!

Brush rake absolutely will make the job cleaner. Guys rent our dozers with rakes all the time to do just that. A lot quicker in some types of jobs to use a rake rather than a trackhoe.

Yup, it's time for the rake.

When I bought my dozer, I told them I wanted delivery and a rake included in the price.

They took this one off a Cat D5 or D6, I forget.

Re: It\'s tree removal time!

The person who built this rake made a mistake here. As you can see, there's no support, which caused the metal to bend when it was stressed.

Re: It\'s tree removal time!

I took off the old tabs a few months ago. They fit this space fairly well and will give some needed strenghth.

If one is good, then two should be better.

This is the other side. The welds are busted and the metal is twisted.
