That is maybe a 200 dollar welding job for an experienced welder. That is a good route to go.
I agree,
I would also look at all the other welds on that loader just to be safe.

For those of you with the same loader, you might want to inspect the welds for cracks or signs of failure. It could well save you from issues down the road. To the OP, thanks for sharing, let us know how this turns out.

Looks like a lethal defect.

I agree-
This should be logged by Agco and if anymore pop up-a recall done on all these loaders. This is dangerous! Imagine having a full load in the bucket at max height and crack...

Since day one, this tractor has caused me nothing but headaches. Surging rpm which was finally fixed with a new fueling map. Non stop leaks from loader quick disconnects. Then 7 trips to the dealer and over 9 weeks without it this winter through spring. Just over 2 years old too. 2016 1742
I live in and own a horse farm. This is the only piece of machinery and it's used every day. So being without a tractor sucks. My dealer had been amazing through the whole ordeal, giving me a loaner so I had zero down time. So while I was working on my arena last night, I go to pick up a bucket of dirt then all of a sudden the loader bent and it crushing my hood. The top weld for the loader support let go. You can see rust in the corner then can see how bad the weld did not burn in. So now I'm out a machine for God knows how long. Just beyond frustrated. I hear stories of guys having no problems at all over 1000 hours and here I am at just 350..... i hope massey does good by this and takes care of it. First off that isnt a weld there was a gap between the two metal supports which they tried to fill in. The two support peices should have been mated together then welded. if there was a gap a peice of stock should have been cut to fit then welded to each support member to give solid support. That is the kind of "weld" produced by first welds by new to the trade with no training welders. Take lost of pix and document everything just in case that is BS!........ Those members were not supported I'm suprised it didn't fail with the first bucket load...........wonder if that wasn't a robot weld?

Everyone with that model loader should examine theirs to see if it is properly welded. MF should jump on this and issue a service tag for dealers to check these when in for service
