Lindy,
I did not demo the B3030 because the local dealer only carries them with cabs. He feels that the tractor is too pricey compared with the B7800 and B2920. That said, I did price the B3030 at a couple of other dealers and found it to be $2-3K higher priced. I felt the B7800 provides all I need and is a much better value from my perspective. It seems the only additional features for the B3030 over the B7800 are the "premium" items like tilt wheel, etc. and the position control vs. quarter inching valve for the 3 pt. control. My neighbor has a B3030 and loves it. I'm sure I will love my B7800 as well.Chuck
Chuck, thanks for laying out your rationale. Makes sense to me for your needs and what your dealer could do for you. My dealer, back in January, made the B3030 too tempting vs the B7800 (and the B7510 I initially looked at), so that's what I went with. I like the "deluxe" features, but I know I paid for them! Also, the price delta was not quite that large with my dealer as you found out your way.

After mowing with the 60" deck a bit, I'm having buyer's regret. I'm thinking I probably should have gone with the 72" deck instead. :(

Anyhow, congrats again -- enjoy the tractor!

I'm sure I will use a few rear implements since my neighbor has offered to share the collection he has for his B3030.

That's one of the best ways to enjoy tractor ownership. My previous neighbor and I both had subcuts and shared all sorts of implements between us. Unfortunately, we've both lost that great arrangement since I moved, but we can still share implements - just takes a bit more planning and some transport on my part now.

Most of my current neighbors have bigger machines than mine, so I doubt there will be much sharing. So I guess I'll just have to buy all my own implements. :D

That's funny! I almost bought a 7610 before jumping up to the larger models. Must be a natural progression for the tractor selection process ;-)

Hey your gonna love that tractor! 1/4" valve or not! I've had my B7800 for over a year now. Plenty of power and just the right size for me. I got mine at Sparta farm and lawn here in MI. Almost bought a B3030 which is a nice tractor also. Nothing like the feeling when the truck shows up and delivers
your new tractor :D . Just a little advise! Put the ROPS down before you drive your brand new tractor into the garage.

Confirmed today that delivery day is Saturday in the morning. Guess I need to prioritize some projects. Problem is I'm leaving Wednesday for business travel over the next 2-3 weeks. It appears I should train my wife.......no, that's not going to happen!

I was surprised there is no downpayment required for the Kubota 42 month 1% financing. The dealer says when they deliver, I just sign the papers and make my first payment next month. Cool! My last decision is on the Kubota insurance. I've read the current thread here about that and will contact my State Farm agent tomorrow to confirm details before making that final call.

Back from my trip and wanted to share with the group that I did take delivery of my new B7800. I've mowed twice and am very impressed with the quality of cut with the 72" MMM. Today I moved a lot of landscape gravel, some rocks and a concrete slab. Starting to get the hang of the FEL and loving what this machine will do. We're having a pool installed so it will get another workout when it comes time to build the fence and then re-landscape.

Thanks for all the advice and shared experiences from this group. You helped me find the right tractor for my needs.

Cheers!

Chuck

Congrats on your new acquisition!

I have been very impressed with the cut quality with the 72" MMM on my new B3030 as well.

What did you decide with the insurance?

I bought the Kubota insurance. It was added to the monthly payment. Thought it was worthwhile to protect against potential stupid mistakes and was about half the price of similar coverage from State Farm.

Congratulations on your new tractor! The 72 mmm is an impressive machine, quality cut and generates a literal firehose of grass clippings.
