I'm gonna keep using "gonna" 'cuz I wanna.
I wonder if farmingwithjunk was reading my posts when he strated this topic? hands down I have to be the worst speller ont his board. However what y'all prolly don't know is that I have a hand injusry on my right hand and 2 fingers don't work. They drag on my keyboard sometimes hitting keys they shouldn't and also my left ahnd types faster than my right hand which is why you will always see "form" used in the context of "from." Also you will see many letter reversals and inappropriate spacing between words.
When I worked for one of the largest companies in the world I would like to assure all of you folks that I took the time, and it takes me a long time, longer than probably all of you, to submit all my work with proper grammar and spelling.
Howver when I am on this forum it is for fun, and I don't go back and correct. Well now with this nicer reply window sometimes I will but usually I jsut let 'er rip. If people want to make a judgement about my intelligence based on my grammar and spelling in the forum they would be way off base. I wont' say becasue it would be bragging, but to get into college later in life I had to take an exam and I scored __ years beyond P.H.d in reading comprehension, and that was jsut one part of the exam.
Also I think it is fun to read in forums "prolly" instead of probably, and "git" as in "git er done" rather than get. I think it is a fun informal way to communicate. When you have to communicate professionally for work, on your fun time it is relaxing to loosen up a bit with the language.
I used to have a great vocabulary, mainly do to reading, but after I married my French hsuband, my vocabulary really went down hill, even though I still read a lot. Being an immigrant my husband had a limited vocabulary and soon I was using shorter and easier words on an everyday basis becasue that is what he needed. One thing I jsut can never use is the word "ain't". I jsut can't use that word, it was drummed into me that it was not proper English so even though now on forums I can write more informally i still never use that word. However I do not in anyway judge others who use it.
Grammar, spelling and incomplete sentences do not turn me off form reading a post, however negative comments, that is like fingernails on a chalk board. There is one guy in particular on this forum who I have nicknamed "Mr. Negative" never has a nice thing to say, almost every comment is meant to put somebody else down, Mr. Negative most of your psots I skip. You are no fun.
