Some parts personnel don't want to trouble themselves with looking up the part # & part availability.

Thanks Jim. I figured out how to align to cam follower with the lever. After lowering the lever to the L position it dropped it down so it was easily visible from the rear to facilitate aligning it with the cam follower. Thanks also for the recommendation to replace the Ring seal. I had not noticed that it was missing. Likely the root cause of the leak in the first place.

You have the cam started correctly in the lever but the bulge(knot) on the cam needs to be above the lever(parts key 4) so lever can be adjusted up/down for L,LD & D or max to min depending on tractor model.

im working on an older 1020 with the same deal as this, you are saying the point of the cam goes into the slot behind the little roller on the tuning fork ?

Hello, I have the JD 2040, if the selector lever is in any position except D, the arms rise to full height, regardless of the depth control setting. I suspect the the sping on the cam follower is broken, as I do not see it looking through the trans filler port.

Welcome to TBN
If control lever is moved to rear of quadrant 3 pt should raise fully in ""all L/D settings"". Are you indicating 3 pt arms raise when control lever is forward in quadrant? I can't remember if spring is visible through hyd filler hole. Do you have access to a bore scope?

Thank you for responding. The 3pt arms raise and lower with the control arm, only when "D" is selected, any other setting, the 3pt arms raise fully with the control arm fully down/forward. I don't have access to a bore scope but will be getting a smaller inspection mirror that I can insert through the trans filler port.
