Then I'm stumped.

Me too, I don't understand how one side can be all chewed up to the point that it breaks and the other side look just fine.

Now, I'm going to hijack my own thread. How often should I have to mess with the 3ph height? Seems like I have to level it out more often than I should. To me the jam nut should be on the bottom, not the top? But like I said I only have 90 hours of tractoring under my belt.

I mess with it every time I use it, but I'm always messing with the angle of the implement. Sometimes I'm trying to set the chipper down flat, sometimes I'm angling the box blade, sometimes the ditch cutter needs tweaking. I can tell you the setting I need is never the same as the last setting I used. I'm really seriously considering top&tilt...

Re: different type of hitch:
Lets look at the types of 3 point hitchs:
Position: Holds a absolute point in referance to the tractor: As it leaks down, it will repoistion it's self to maintain a level according to the tractor. A two foot furrow will be a two foot furrow on level ground. As the tractor noses down, the plow comes up. Etc.

Draft: Holds it's poisition to a reference point to the tool. The tool makes the reference. A 2ft furrow will be a two foot deep furrow. (within reason)

Set: the tool "stays" where you put it. Like the Position, but it won't self maintain. As it leaks down the depth increases.
