JD 2305 Fuel Shutoff Diode Bad

I purchase a new solenoid ($180) from the JD dealer and rushed home to install it.
Interesting and I will say that JD OEM parts are quite a bit more expensive (in this case) than Kubota parts. Had to replace my fuel cut solenoid on my cab M series tractor and it was 90 bucks at the dealer which I thought was a bit steep but they are listed on Flea Bay for about half that but the origin was questionable (probably Chinese) so I bought the OEM anyway.

My system is very similar to yours and I also replaced the diode which is located (on the M series next to the fuse block under the lower edge of the dash in plain view). Kubota issued a recall on theirs but mine was way out of warranty (like 10 years out so I just got a new diode from Digikey and replaced it as well. I will say the dealer price on it and what I paid from Digikey with shipping was very close in cost. Bought 2 to have a spare as I have 2 M series tractors that are identical (and both older).

All diesel's (other than the full electronic controlled ones), all initially start with the fuel rack in the wide open position and as soon as they catch the fuel rack returns to the idle position. How they work. It happens so fast you'd never notice it. Not a clue as to how the ECM controlled engines operate but I'd assume the same way but the ECM opens the fuel delivery for a split second.

Just a "Thanks" to Tomchiz. Followed the post, wire color I.D. swapped diodes with hazard lights and it's working. Appreciate the post nearly 9 years after the O.P. Just keeps giving! Thanks again.
