RP136__________UN01JAN94.gifI agree, lower that pressure down to 2350 and check the clamps on the lines. The trans pump pressure can be checked at plug on the right side of the shift cover. That is the port for the pressure for the Hi-Lo. The loader stuttering at times might be due to running the loader off of the rear remotes. From the factory, the rear remotes return their oil to sump, through a short 3" hose between the valve and the three point housing. If that short hose is there, you should change that routing so it returns to the filter cover. The transmission pump does not have enough capacity to supply enough oil to the main pump for steady raising and lowering loader cylinders. If return oil is routed to filter cover, it is sent directly back to main pump to assist the trans pump. Is there a hose attached to the cover? Do you have a ported filter cover? If the cover has no port for attaching hose, a new cover is required. You can then remove the short hose with clamps and put plugs in place of hose nipples. Then on the outside of the remote valve housing directly opposite of original hose is another plug. Run a new hose from valve to ported filter cover. Illustration shows the conversion kit. Part number is listed as AR71945.

And yes the tractor does have independent PTO.

The tubes supplying oil to the hyd pto have been known to leaking robbing supply oil from trans pump to main pump. For diagnostics remove and cap power steering line(parts key #10) and operate hyd's and see if noise is still present.

Part of the problem is somebody who should be slapped. Went and supplied the loader hydraulics from the scv. Install a T in the line prior to the rockshaft and scv valves to supply the loader controls.
DO NOT return loader or hydraulic motor oil direct to the trans sump. The transmission pump is much lower gpm than the front pump . Return loader oil via a ported filter cover.

You should have gone over to Welland,Ontario and slapped the JD engineers that put the hyd SCV control kits as an option in the loader ordering codes for JD utility tractors. Obviously they didn't agree with you or there wouldn't have been the loader SCV control option from JD's factory. FYI the factory codes didn't included "ported filter covers" for SCV controlled loaders. I know because I sold the loaders when they were "NEW". I did not state ported filter covers weren't better but in limited loader operation SCV control of loader is very adequate. Adding a tee, 2 spool valve and ported filter cover is going to cost in excess of $500

From personal experience, the shudder, slow speeds and hydraulic noise all went away when our 2020 was converted from SCV to a T and ported filter cover.
The 2nd factory SCV was not a cheap option. And leaves the tractor without a SCV to use with other equipment.

Maybe that was correct on your tractor but that doesn't discount that JD ENGINEERS didn't think the SCV controlled loader was as terrible as you make it out to be. Some people that bought tractors with loaders operated from SCV may not even own drawn hyd controlled implements so they could care less if the scv's are tied up operating loader.

Seems a strange option to choose an extra scv, not have an scv to use and have slower/noisier hydraulics.
Instead of a T, ported cover and a joystick for similar $ . And have a much better performing loader.

My point was if someone has a JD utility tractor that has hyd issues with the loader operating from scv's changing it to a tee with an ind valve & ported filter cover is not going to necessarily be a magic cure to the hyd issues for the extra $$$$$$$$$$$$ spent. Just because that fixed your tractor doesn't mean it's a magic cure-all.

Removed and capped steering line, noise remained. Installed pressure gauge and charge pump pressure is 140 at idle, 160 above idle. The valve assembly has the 3 inch line between the valve and lift cover. I did lower the pressure down to 2350 PSI at the rear remote and the noise reduced significiantly but not completely. I was wondering about the fluid flow through the 2 large lines. I missed originally a crimped line which could be limiting flow from the charge pump to the front pump. It is not completely crimped close but enough to reduce flow. It is the lowest line on the rear housing that goes forward. My concern is the noise goes away when rear remotes operated and or 3pt raised. Returns when no fluid flow is needed. Steering circuit has no influence one way or another on the noise. The owner will be by tomorrow so I can discuss where we are so far. Thanks
