I was looking at the John Deere 3032E tractor with a loader. I will be using it to maintain our 5 acre lot, mowing, dragging driveway, garden ets. The price seemed very reasonable @ $15,590. Does anyone have any info, good and bad, about the 3032E?
Thanks

Welcome to TBN:D

There are very new to the JD line-it's a basic tractor that's value priced, and I think they will do well. And of course JD is great at standing behind thier stuff also.

I have been trying to decide between the 3032E and the 3005, myself. I've had a chance to drive both. They both seem to be solid machines with a couple of fairly big differences.

The 3032E is a Hydro, while the 3005 is gear driven.

The 3005 can have a mid PTO, the 3032E can not.

The 3032E has a loader which is NOT a quick-park, but the bucket can be removed of course. Also, the loader control is mounted to the right loader mast, not beside the seat.

The 3032E is a more comfortable tractor than the 3005. The operator's platform is much roomier than the 3005. Much easier to get on and off without the gear transmission hump.

I have asked a couple of dealers their opinions on the 3032E, and both of them sited the non-removable loader as a reason they did not favor those.

Both machines are smooth running tractors and handle very well. As I siad before, they both seem quite solid.

In my case, the vast majority of my tractor work is with a bush hog. The property is 40 acres with many nice field areas. The hydro would be nice for that, but do I want the loader on all the time while doing that?

If I were going to use the loader a lot more, the 3032E would make more sense, since I understand that a hydro makes loader work easier, as well.

To sum it up, I think Deere would have had a great addition to their line-up IF they had put a 300 loader on this machine instead of the 305. As it stands, all they did was muddy the water for me, making my decision much more difficult.

By the way, the quotes I am looking at are 15,100 for the 3005, and 15,500 for the 3032E. The closeness of the prices makes it even more difficult a decision.

Hope all that rambling helped you, at least a little.

I've posted about the loaders before...IMO, Id trade off my 300cx for a 305 tomorrow morning if I could. I took a good look at the 305 at my dealer and it seems like a nice stout loader. The one thing I hate about my 300cx (and the 300x, or 300) is all the quick park stuff makes it not as tight of a loader. For my application, i'd rather have a solid loader. IF the 110 was Green, had the factory cab, and was more Cadillac-ish I would have a 110 and not a 3520. I dont EVER Plan on removing the loader. Have 84 hours on it now and I've never removed it, not even have THOUGHT about it....

Pretty much, I've come to the realization that once my warranty is over, I'll probably be fabricating new loader masts which are "permanent" like the 305's to make my loader more ridgid.

Hey folks:
Thanks for the info! My wife and I buzzed by the JD dealership in Williamsburg this morning. Since it was Sunday, there was nobody there. They have sold the 3032E, but had a 3038E. It is about $1000 more. I don't know if the extra 6 hp is worth that much. But sure is a nice tractor!! I would more than likely never need to take the loader off, so it really doesn't persuade me either way, but certainly makes sense to want to be able to. Anyway, thanks guys!!

JD 3520, I figured on getting a 4 or 5 foot finishing mower from Tractor Supply. Gotta sweet talk the wife into the tractor first! lol! Anyway, thanks guys!!

Ha! Well, Robbie, we think alike. Sunday is my favorite day to go to the tractor lots. Did you go ahead and sit on it? That operator platform is really a comfortable ride, in my opinion.

Spudland Dave - I remember your dislike for the potential "looseness" of the removable loader. Instead of starting from scratch with your fabrication, is there anything you could do with the existing mast arms? Bolt a support from the masts to the sides of the front weight bracket maybe? Or just weld the whole darn thing solid in place?:D

By the way, how do you mostly use your tractor. I'm curious as to what assortment of duties makes a non-removable more to your liking. It is the hours-at-a-time bush hogging fields that are not exactly lawn smooth that gives me pause on the issue.

For those not familiar with the 3032E, here is a shot of the plaform.
This picture is of one without a loader. Clean and roomy.

My neighbor has a JD 4120 with a loader. He also has a brush grappel for it. I used it to clean up the pile of trees and and brush left by the bulldozer that cleared part of the lot. That is a great tractor! However, the driver platform is a little tight and even though the 3032/38 are smaller tractors, it didn't seem as tight. But on the 4120,I may have had the seat to close to the steering wheel, or ate too many biscuits.:D I used it with a rake and cleaned the lot real well. That is what got me interested in my own tractor. I hate borrowing stuff. At 25,000+ I opted to look for something smaller.
