I will try all your ideas in the morning. I did reverse the lines at one point, because up was closing and down opening, which just seemed backwards 😄 I did expect to break some branches while grabbing them.

Yeah listen for the pump that will tell you when maximum "crunch" has been achieved.

I do remember hearing it whine when it stopped closing. Is there any adjustments that can be made on that back connector? I have only used that back connector for the mid mount deck lifting. Should the valve on the back be opened or closed?

Are you sure the grapple is not hitting its own stop/end of stroke?

Is there anyway you have a adjustable flow control valve installed. these will restrict flow in one direction and have unrestricted flow in other if there was and orifice fitting installed should restrict flows both directions. After thinking on this cyl opens but no power in closing? could be defective cyl. letting oil bypass packing when a load is applied takes very little power to open clamps

Problem resolved! Thanks to all of your troubleshooting tips, and being very confident that my line reduction should not have any effect, I did the following!

I swapped the lines at the two locations I could. No help.
I tried running with just the Orange leg. No worse.
Just the green leg and everything stopped working! So I traced the line and realized that on the back I had reconnected the deck line instead of the grapple line. I think this happened when I disconnected it because I had a leak up front and wanted to relieve the pressure. This is the only spot I did not label yet, because the labels that came with the kit, did not match the colors. I will be labeling them today :)

This is my first tractor and I grew up in the city, I'm learning on the fly with help from my neighbor and you guys. So, I don't mind sharing my embarrassing mistake. I just reminded myself that I'd rather it be a cheap embarrassing mistake, then an expensive one!

Now that that is out of the way.

This EverythingAttachment Grapple is sweet! I can't wait to test it more. Firewood will be its primary use for me!

Nice troubleshooting for a city kid. You sure have a nice looking place there.

I assume you are using the lever that controls the mower deck height to run the grapple?

Can you post some pics of the Bw16138 hose kit and how it installed? Does it look good? Do you just disconnect the deck hoses and connect the grapple hoses to run the grapple? Were there quick disconnects so you can remove the FEL easily? Where did yo buy the hose kit?

So many questions!! I want to do the same thing on my 3520. I like the idea of the solid lines for this purpose.

It looks great!!

THANKS!!!
