Has anyone had experience with a cab model 3320 and a front mounted JD snow blower? The factory literature says 3320 w/ R4 tires without chains is 64.7 inches wide but the recommended blower is 59 inches wide & I wonder if this combination works well.

One concern is that the cab contacts high drift walls before the large rear wheels can compress them. Heck of a place to stall with the doors blocked till spring.

I have a 3720 Cab, and the best set up for me was to go with a 74" Rear Blower. I like the rear blower better than the front blower because now I can leave my bucket on and use it with my snowblower.

Because if I had just gone to a front blower, I'm sure I'm going to wish I could use my bucket to scrape and peel pact snow. I really do think you get the best of both if you go Loader/Blower vs. just Blower in the front.

Remember, These blowers are huge, even on long driveways like mine, It only takes me one minute to blow the length of one side of my driveway, then another minute to blow the length of the opposite side of the driveway.

Great Combo..something to think about

Drainponddesign,

I have the exact same unit you are talking about with the 59" snow blower. I wouldn't go any other way. I have been the route with the rear snow blower and if you have just a short driveway it is fine. Other than that have a good chiropractor because you are going to need it. As far as the tires are concerned, I have the larger R-4's on my 3320 cab and I just measured them at about 58" wide. The JD site may be stating the maximum width of those tires. The snowblower was used this winter and I did not have any problem with clearance. I did have a couple of issues with the new front 3 PT hitch. It kept snapping pins when I put the snow blower down. After a learning curve and some stronger pins, I think that problem is taken care of. I must tell you the lift height with this new 3 PT hitch is alot better than the old front hitch and this seems to lift the unit straight up.
I will tell you the heat is awesome. I cannot tell you about the air because we have not been that warm yet. I have been waiting for this factory cab for a long time and I even raised my garage door (to 93") so that I would not have to leave it outside.
I could go on for hours, but I will let it go at that. Let me know if you need any other information or pictures.

Using a Rear Blower is easier than you think. All you have to do is slightly sit yourself sideways in the seat, and your left foot is right on top of the Hydro Pedals. I don't find it to be a neck breaker at all. Sure if I had two tractors, one would have a loader in the front, and the other would have a blower in the front. But since I only have one machine, and I need a machine that can do both at the same time I for my needs, think the Rear Blower with the Front Loader is the way to go. My driveway is about 1000' long. It only takes me one minute to go up the length of the driveway in Reverse. Then One minute to cover the other side of the width of the driveway in reverse. So basically, it takes only 2 to 4 minutes to do a huge driveway in reverse. Who Can't Handle that? I love it. But I always have to have the loader on also. If you get packed snow on a driveway the blower just goes right over it. So that is when I need to peel it with the loader bucket.

Sure a front blower is more comfortable, but if I had only the front blower, I'd be wishing I had the loader, then if I had the loader I'd be wishing I had the blower. So this is the perfect compromise. And To say you need a chiropractor is being very far from the truth. I don't need a spine doctor, I've been doing this for many years. We own a lot of conjoined properties and I do them all with the tractor. My driveway being the biggest, 4minutes?

Thank you for the reply, the JD literature may be wrong on the max width with R4 rear tires dimension. I had thought that the new 3320 was wider than the machine the 59" blower was originally designed for and might be due for replacement by a wider blower.

Having the loader & blower available is very desirable, maybe I'll try driving backward for a while before making a decision.
