JD 3720 - Initial Service ???

What did you purchase other that what is typically included in the JD filter kits? I'm not sure whether the suction filter or the inline filter is included in this kit, but it sure sounds like you paid a lot. I'm approaching the first service on my 4320 and I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

They have similar kits for the 3720 too.

That looks like a super deal on ebay. I only got the two filters -- ~ $50 for the inline hydraulic and ~$80 for the hydraulic suction. Seems like you get all filters including the air, engine oil, hydraulic oil and fuel on ebay for less $'s. Will have to check ebay next time around. Many thanks for the info.

Not sure why I posted 50 hours - I am at 200 hours.

Whichc hydraulic filter comes in the kit , inline or regular filter???

Ok guys, look under the hood of your tractors. I have a 2006 JD 3720, and there is a sticker under the hood in the front, on the left side of the hood. It specifies the first engine oil change and filter is at 50 hours, then every 200 hours. 50 hours is also what my dealer recommended. It seems that the owners manual and sticker under the hood are the same on the 200 hour intervals but the hood sticker also specifies the first oil change at 50 hours which is not mentioned in the manual. Most other tractor manufactures recommend the first oil change at 50 hours.

I checked the decal under the hood of my 3720 which was built in early March 2007 and the decal specifies first engine oil/filter change at 50 hrs which contradicts the Operators Manual which indicates 200 hrs. Like I said above, I'll be changing at 50 hrs. I will also alert John Deere about the conflict of info. I still believe JD inadvertently omitted this paragraph from the latest version of Operator's Manual.

I emailed John Deere to clarify which is correct for initial service -- decal under the hood or the Operator's Manual. Below is their answer. As I stated above I will be changing at 50 hrs to be safe. However, I'm replacing the original breakin oil with new breakin oil as recommended by by JD service manager and will change to JD Plus 50 at 200 hr mark.

Question regarding first engine oil/filter change on new 3720 Cab tractor. Operator's Manual specifies 200 hrs and the decal under the hood specifies 50 hrs. Which is correct??
