JD 4010 w/ Dual 3000 Loader

Hi All, I'm a tractor newbie and I know very little about hydraulics. I just had a Dual 3000 put on my 4010 (gas) and the hydraulics are too weak to do much with the loader. The bucket goes up slowly and now the 3 point won't lift a bale without engaging one of the bucket levers. What can I do to maximize what I have for hydraulics? And if that's still not enough, what are my options for an add-on? Thank you! Jon

Check all your filters including sump if it has one. .

Install a hyd gage and see if the pump and hyd components can develop the pressure.

Disconnect a work port line and see if you have the volume.

Hydraulics:
Type: closed center
Valves: 2
Pump flow: 13 gpm [49.2 lpm]

What type hyd valve controls the Dual FEL(scv or ind)? If independent valve is it closed center type? I agree with J_J on checking sump screen and length of time since hyd filter was changed. I'd also advise checking hyd stand-by pressure which should be 2250 psi.

Sounds like it is not plumbed correctly.

Do you know the difference between "open center" and "closed center" hydraulic valves?

Is your JD 4010 a closed center system?

4010 with a gasoline engine has closed-center hyd's. I'll bet the FEL is open center. Depending on valve a closed center plug may could be added. Simple check of valve is with FEL valve levers in neutral if oil comes out of return hose when engine is cranked then valve is open center.
