I have a 2001 JD 4100 HST and I am getting tired of removing my
ballast box and attaching my RMM and then removing the RMM, etc. etc.
Is the iMatch system compatible with the JD 4100 ? Do any
4100 owners use it ? How much does the hit cost ?
Thanks to all, G

I have a 2210 with the imatch. I believe it is compatable with the entire 4010 series. I love it. It makes life sooo much easier and saves lots of time. Retail is around $220 and worth every penny. The Tractor supply co has their brand around $180. Dave

Thanks for the info Dave, but I am "pre-4000 ten series", so my
original question still stands.......thanks for the pricing info though

garchib,

Doc meant to say the 4000 series....its compatible with the 4100...I dont have the Imatch yet, but I was told by my dealer its available. The 4110 has the same spec's as the older 4100 series (i.e the foldable ROPS from the 4110 fits the 4100)...its the implements that may or may not be compatible, depending on age..

The reason I asked is the 3pt hitch on the 4110 is MUCH more beefy
than on the 4100, so I didn't know if that was to handle the iMatch
system, or there was some freakish warranty issue.

garchib,

Not to disagree but they are the same. I have seen many 4110's and had mine 4100 next to a new 4110 (dealers lot)
Its the same 3 Pt setup....

Of course If I'm wrong on this I would appoligize...but I looked these machines over fully. That would have been an obvious change...

You might have the machine model number mixed up...
the 2210 has a smaller 3 Pt hitch limted cat 1, same as the 4050...just guessing

I had a 3PT hitch part bend on my 4100 and we took it out to look
at several 4110(s) and the lift links are MUCH larger on the 4110.
They are not the same part number. The dealer does not know why
they are bigger on the 4110 than the 4100.
Here is an example.....the part I had that bent was JD part #
AM879522, which is a liftlink part for a 4100. That very same "piece"
of the lift link apparatus on the 4110 is JD part # LVA801237.

I think the 4100 is still a limited category 1 just like the 2210. Either way if it works on a little 2210 I cant imagine it would not work on your machine but certainly your dealer could give you the final word on that. The iMatch unit is the same for all models. Dave

Hi Doc,

The 4100 is a full & true cat 1...its got plenty of clearance
and its the same machine as the 4110...I was at the dealer today and again saw a 4110....same **** thing....

Not sure what the confusion is but I can send a picture if any body likes....

Sorry I was thinking of the smallest in the 4000 series the 4010 not the 4110. The 4010 is still a two piece frame etc like the 2210. Either way they should all be fine if it fits the limited 1 on the 2210. Dave

Ducati, check the parts catalogs and the size of the lift
links on a 4110 vs. a 4100......they are different. They made
the lift links larger. The threaded portion has larger circumferance by at least an 1/8", maybe even 1/4". I appreciate the help and it makes sense that if it works on a 2210, it will work on a 4100.
Next time you go to a dealer bring some calipers ;-)

It makes you want to bang your head on the hitch dont it. Why in the world they dont just make all this stuff the same size is still a puzzle to me. Dave

Is the imatch similar to the Freedom Hitch or other after market varieties of that ilk, or is it better/cheaper/faster? Have you used it for long and have you found it to be a pretty rugged unit? Also, is it a bolt-on male and female adapter, or does it hitch directly onto JD implements? TIA

As far as I know its the same but I have never ever heard of that brand before. I have heard one something like simco ?? and then there is the tractor supply one. I'm sure the fittings are pretty much the same on all of them. The only difference is that JD makes what they call iMatch bushings to go on the implement and they are about $10 each. I just use a category 0 inside a category 1 bushing to get the same diameter. They are less than a buck a piece. The JD one is a little better fit and finish not that that really means much. the others are a different color but thats nothing that a $10 of spray paint wont cure. Its VERY rugged, I mean its really a hefty piece of steel. If you drop it on your toes you will know it. It bolts to the 3 pth and then its got levers, one on each side you just flip those up, back up to your implement, lineing up the three pins and you lift your hitch untill it engages. Then you drop the levers which lock it in place. You can change non pto implements in seconds and a PTO implent as fast as you can slip the hitch on. I cant imagine not haveing one. I primarily bought one because my property is three hours from home out in the Boondox /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif So you can bet if I need a tool or a 10 cent part its the one thing I wont have. This saves soooo much time which is really valuable. I say that because its not uncommon for me to get on on a saturday, like I will tomorrow, at 4 am, drive 4.5 hours, work in the woods for five or six hours, then drive home. I did not want to be spending 20 minutes changeing implements. No more kicking the tractor or curseing the hitch, bloody knuckles etc. Dave

Is that correct about the Foldable ROPS? I have been looking for a foldable ROPS for my 4100. Anyone know how much one of those cost? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

garchib ,

Your probably right on difference of thickness of links.
Not sure why there is because Hydrolics are the same ( same lift limit). And the 4100 will handle the imatch as well....
I will see them up close soon, and get back to you, but you are probably correct on this matter...

Nuru,
I'm 100 % sure on the 4110 fitting the 4100 series. If for example you got the backhoe attachment (46BH) you need a foldable ROPS and it is the 4110 ROPS...price is under $400

Ok guys, now that you have sold me on the iMatch for my 4100....
is there a list of the JD attachments that work with it ? The reason
I ask is that I have a JD 261 RMM and I cannot find anywhere where
it states that this mower is "iMatch compatible". My goal is to be
able to switch between the ballast box and the RMM quickly, via
iMatch, but if this mower is not iMatch compatible it defeats
the purpose of me buying the iMatch hitch....
Thanks to all, G

Now you got me...I dont know. I know it comes down to some of the implements not being I-Match...you might want to touch base with a dealer in your area and double check..
Let us know what you find out...

Look your implement up on the frontier web site. If its compatable it will say so in the description. If not I bought a 3 pt rear hitch receivor that is imatch compatable from a place called Bad River products. The guy was super friendly and assured me that They had a adapter comeing out soon that would make any non imatch implement iMatch compatable. Dave
