Hey thanks for the quick reply. I talked to the parts manager today at the local dealer, he mentioned he would pull up the most up to date version of the DTAC and study it and get back with me on my options. During disassembly, the only parts that looked slightly worn to me were the bronze bushing (#12 in the diagram) and the upper pinion bearing seemed to have a little more slop in it than it should (#10 in the diagram). Everything else looked relatively in tact for an 18yr old tractor. If I can find a bushing, I'm tempted to just replace that and the seals and let it roll. I understand that the replacement bushing from John Deere is made for the newer modified housing, so it seems I am on my own for finding a replacement. Problem is, the original pinion diameter is 27mm, and there aren't any off the shelf bushings in that size that I have found....... yet. We shall see, I will let you know what I figure out.
