what tires can replace 24x8.50 - 12 ? can't find them anywhere and the tractor is 4wd. Dealer says tire was discontinued.
Yes they are turf tires, if you look at the ones that google brings up they are usually 23x8.5-12 or 24x9.5-12. the firestones are discontinued. Since the tractor is 4wd tire size is important. Are these turf tires? Google shows a whole lot of manufacturers making that size.
Thanks, Frederick isn't that far awayUhmm. I am not a tire expert, so I would go to a tire shop that does ag work and see what they say. Rice Tire in Frederick has some knowledgeable ag tire people, but that may be a little far for you.
I know that if you get into the tire specs you can get the circumference, which combined with what can fit in your rims is the important number in 4wd applications. I believe most fronts lead by 3-5%.
Talked to Rice Tires, they recommended 24x9.5-12 Kenda tires. they are 9 inches wide, so slightly wider than current, but are the same diameter. ordered new wheels, got one today offset is less so should give me more clearance. offset on current rim is 4" new rim 3 1/2".As RJCorazza said go to an AG TYRE specialist. Even if that size is discontinued, they will be able to find a good subsitute size to maintain the front /rear tyre ratio which is what matters.
