JD 4230
AC quit bcz relay got hot. Jumped relay as temporary fix. Relay got hot again last and quit, so replaced both relays and now tractor won't start. JD man says relays wire up funny but isn't sure how they wire up. Very frustrated, help anyone!

Which relays are you replacing? I assume the cab relay is the one you are having a problem with A/C. That one is under cowling on left side. The cab relay is special since it is a constant on relay. If you install a normal relay there, it will overheat. The wiring should be arranged the same way on the new one as it was on old one. I assume the other relay you mention is the starter relay. It is located on firewall under the hood on the left side. Again, the wiring should be connected the same way as the old one. If you can post a picture of the relays and wiring, I might be able to assist further.

Check ALL breakers and relay connections for loose connections. On breakers that fasten to the board they have a history of loosening with AGE.
Common problem with starter relay on firewall is it loses ground.
