JD 4300 seems sick

Yes Beenthere I do have the Tech manual. Can you explain about the adjustment to keep it from cycling near the top limit. I am not sure what you mean by that exactly so I would appreciate a bit of an explanation as to where the adjustment is and what affect it will have on operation.

That adjustment is referred to in the tech manual as the "Rockshaft Lift Cycle Test" and is chpt 11 -28 (in my 4300 tech manual)

Yes beenthere I did change the game as I studied the situation today.

Wayne you appear to be correct. The box is drifting down and the system is working to keep it in position.
When I operate at higher rpms it does not occur.
THANKS

Yea, the rockshaft actually still adjusts, but at higher RPM it barely loads the engine so you can't tell it is happening. Either way, no harm at all and I'd stop worrying. Or just sell it to me for cheap!

Same thing with our 4300. I noticed it this weekend with the 3pt post hole digger on the back. It drifts down and suddenly jerks back up.

Thank you one and all for reducing my fears that something was wrong. Beenthere I will check out that reference in the Tech manual though I will probably make no adjustment based on what I now understand.
I will however keep the rpms up on the tractor when there is a lot of weight on the hydraulic system.
Wayne; NO SALE. I love my 4300.
