OK the neighbor is looking at hydro CUTs. He does not like the pedal on the Kubota,so it is scratched from his list. The local CIH dealer sells Kubotas,so he does not sell the DX. The local MF and Agco dealers are way too high on price.

The TCD with loader is priced at $35,000 CDN for a brand new tractor with R-4s. He has a JD 4610 with the 460 loader at his place today it has 11 hours on it from demoing, but the price is $30,500 CDN. Is the NH worth that much more do you guys think? The NH is coming on Thursday for a demo.

I checked out the Deere, and to tell you the truth, except for the scream of the hydro, and the thiness of the bucket I was very impressed!! Just from sitting on it vs the NH I thought the Deere was more substantial, and seemed to be more heavier duty(which might have just been an illusion)

I suggested if he likes the Deere, tell the dealer to bring it back out on Thursday for a head to head against the NH. His wife said tell both dealers that the winner stays.

I guess your just posting a comment and not a question. You might mention to your neighbor that the loader for the JD is made in Canada, that might also be important to him. Whatever you do, don't let him look at nor try the Kubota L4630 0r L4330 HST. The loader has more beef, the HD buckets are thick and most of all, the hydro is easily the smoothest made. I think the new Kubota hydro pedal is absolutely splendid, fitting my size 13 boot beautifully. I don't have hydro pedal hangups that would eliminate any manufactuer, it easily opens up a wider and arguably superior field of tractors. I use both a Kubota single pedal and a JD 510 with side by side pedals and find neither having advantages/disadvantages over the other. It's truly a non issue for me. Some say tomato and some say tamato. Rat...

It kind of seems like your already impressed with the John Deere. I would go for it, 4500 less with only 11 hours on it. It still is brand new. New Holland is good, but not worth $4500 more or visa versa. I really think that Kubota, John Deere and New Holland are all good tractors. I would look at the diffferent dealers as far as after the sale, then the price and it looks like in your case John Deere has them all beat.

just my opinion.

I would take the 4610 and use the difference to buy other implements or something for the wife!

Both tractors would have warranty and and for a tractor with only 11 hours on it, the price difference is too much to pass up.

hey RaT,

Yes I did have a question. Is the NH that much better of a tractor to be worth the extra $$$?

Also he tried the Kubota, but it was not comfortable for him just driving around the dealers lot. So he did not demo one,and struck it off of his list.

I know no one has mentioned MMM but in case... the TC45 does not allow for a MMM. The TC40 will.

John Deere offers a heavy duty bucket as an option. If you can get it instead of the standard bucket its not very much more. In this case the standard bucket may be banged up a little so this swap may not work. Doesn't hurt to ask.

I'd ask the dealer about the hydro whine, you mentioned elsewhere that a 4310 was a whole lot less noiisy. It could be the levels, and corrected before purchase.

We were looking at both Green and Blue, and the Deere was a much better fit, here.

Ditto what was said about HD bucket.

Seems like the money savings would be too much to pass up, to me.

Woodbeef, I would want to compare the loaders a little bit too. As I recall, the JD has higher lift height with the NH having a little bit more capacity. Personally, I like the Yanmar engine just a little more then the Shibura. NH always seems to put a little extra steel into the castings so they do look more heavily built. I think both tractors actually compare very well against each other. The extra cost of the NH for whatever the reasons, be it because of being brand new versus one with the equivalent of a days work. The noise on the JD which has been addressed by others would certainly be a concern, a major concern. If its a normal condition of the JD then he would have to ask himself if he would want to live with it, if not, theres a problem. I checked into both of these tractors pretty intensely prior to my final descision. They are both nice tractors that seem to be of comparable value. Rat...

My friend in Moline came through with the answer for the screaming hydro. There is a DTAC out on it for a replacement poppet in the charge relief valve.
