JD 5055/5065 price check and questions

The above has been troubling me. Anyone have any thoughts as to this deal he has put together for me? I have checked with another Deere dealer and a Kubota dealer. They have both gone out and inspected my trade and neither has bothered to call me back to let me know what they could do. I don't get that either! Guess I am suppose to call them and see what they came up with. Have to do the selling and buying both, I guess!

Are there any other JD or Kubota dealers within a reasonable distance?
I needed to travel a bit myself, as I wasn't happy with my closest dealer.

Yes, both of the other dealers I talked to are within 50 miles of me. I really think the first dealer that gave me the trade price probably was giving me a fair trade price but I just don't understand his tactics when the options to me are that you get 1500.00 if paid in full or 0% interest. It doesn't say one and the other wouldn't apply! Don't know why he can't just be straight up with me and tell me how he has everything figured. Also, I am not sure he priced me the correct loader with the machine as the book calls for a heavier loader than the one he figured.

I can't see any reason why you wouldn't get the $1500 for paying cash, he didn't give it to you with the zero percent, out of his pocket, just to be nice. I would make sure to get all the options/model numbers on paper and signed by the dealer so if it comes in other than how you want you have something to back you up. Really good dealers seem hard to find. I remember reading on here recently of a John deere dealer somewhere in ohio that supposed to be very good, apparently he sells quite a few tractors site unseen by the buyer.

Back when zero percent deals were first invented in the US (I'm thinking late seventies here as I recall) the car companies and their finance arms were actually borrowing money at commercial rates ( 8 to 12 %) and hiding that cost in the price of the car. The cash back or whatever they choose to call it was a good chunk of that finance cost they were hiding in the price. Today with the Fed rate at zero these big finance companies can borrow at no cost to themselves so there is no point in offering any cash off for a cash sale beyond their risk of incurring cost if they have to foreclose on you at a later date.
Times have changed and what was SOP then is no longer SOP.

That's the way it was when I bought in June. I took the $1500, paid cash.
Same thing with CNH about 4 years ago, although that was $2000 at the time.

Exactly but since the other deal from a competing John Deere dealer was still 6000.00 more, I decided to go ahead and order it anyway. I think he was making me a fair deal and the other dealer thought he was way over on what he should be allowing me on trade but I don't care about what they are giving me for trade, what I want to know is how much the difference is. I can figure the rest out on my own. Well, kind of.
