JD 5103.. 50hp other units in sma category?$$

I just got a quote on 1 of these badboy Yesterday.......

The dealer said this was the best selling Tractor they have.

Made in the USA ........ Price.... 12.880.00 . Drive out.
With the bucket............Price....3.900.00 .
.........................Grand Total...16,780.00
.........................Zero Down for 1/6yrs.
I told him the bucket seemed a little high ??????

He busted out laughing , when I told him I would go to the Other Tractor Dealer, and buy a bucket for..... 2,495.00 , but !!!, it would not be Green...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thats the same price I was quoted for my loader. I thought it was a little high too considering it is not a quick attach. I will probably buy it though b/c a green tractor looks best with a green loader. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was quoted 18,995 for a 5103, fel and med duty cutter. Is that a little high? Would the med duty cutter be 2,100?

No, thats about right. The cutter seems a couple hundred high though. My 5103 w/loader would have cost me 16,900. I bought just the tractor and cutter. The cutter, model 286 (mid duty) was used one time and I bought it for about 1200.

I want to get 1 more quote, over at Cleveland Tx, JD. before I decide, which dealer I go with.

I'am waiting till March, maybe they will still have the Zero Down for 60 , anybody know ?

is there a lot of difference in price between JD dealers? The one that gave me the price was a 1st cousin, but it seems a little high.

This is what I was told about the 5103 production....all tech and production happens in the US but it is assembled for delivery in India. Still, a 50 horse tractor for under 13k new, it is worth it. India is a major player in the tractor manufacturing business. I had no 2nd thoughts about buying mine eventhough it was assembled there. I knew if I had a problem JD would take care of it. This is a pic of it.

Everything you see in the pic cost me 13.5K. Brand new tractor and bushhog used once by owner of dealership. (the owner sold me the tractor).

Do they make it in 4 wheel drive? It sounds like a heck of a bargain. How hard is it to detach the FEL? Will it bog down using a 7' bush hog? Sorry for the 60 questions, but this sounds like an amazing deal.
