Backhoe JD 5205 Power Beyond Model 48 Backhoe

I've tried to attach some pages from the Installation Instructions for a 48 Backhoe on a 5105 or 5205 Tractor. The dealer installed the backhoe on my tractor when I bought it new but gave me the instructions afterwards. I hope these help. I was thinking of taking some photos of my set-up but it is raining here now and when I read that to access the inlet housing one must remove the right rear wheel I had second thoughts. I can confirm that when the backhoe is not connected the two hoses (from the tractor) of the Power Beyond are connected together although not as shown in your diagram. Let me know if you think I may be able to help some more.

Thank you. Your taking the time to post these pages allowed me to instantly see the answer to one of my questions - "How the oil gets back to the reservoir." I'm sure that if I spend some more time with these pages and I will gain more understanding. I really appreciate your help.

Thanks to JD5210 for his hot-link to the operator's manual; and more kudos to texasranger556's post which stuck in my mind and then something clicked when I read Qvuebecguy's installation pages. From there I located the Deere Backhoe Manual for 4200—4700, 5105 and 5205, 5200—5500, 5210—5510 Tractors that contained a page on Preparing Tractor Hydraulics (5105, 5205 Tractors) Yahoo! life is sweet!

No I have not solved the issue of connecting the hydraulics for the backhoe but I am closing in on understanding some of the concepts. I am especially pleased to finally understand that I need to have the backhoe'd hydraulic fluid returned directly to the reservoir by drilling and tapping the sump return plug at the top of rockshaft housing and installing an additional Male Quick Connect

So that covers the mystery of the 3rd hydraulic connections.

I'm still seeking any help anyone is willing to offer. This is like a kid on an Easter Egg Hunt - a few more pointers and I may be able to begin turning a wrench.
