Cheesehead - A Worksaver FLGR-277 is mated to my JD5325 with the 542 loader. It is built super tough and weighs ~1000lbs. I use this to move brush, trees, rocks, root balls, etc. Really like the split top clamping as often I'm carrying irregular materials. The down side to this beefy grapple is the weight can limit your carrying weight by probably 200-300lbs over lighter grapples. That said I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again. Also I should state that I have a separate and complimentary HD Houle rock bucket for picking up finer materials. The Worksaver is linked below...

I can recommend the Monster Grapple from: Loflin Fabrication

I think you posted the weight in an older thread. The site does not list it.

My crane scale shows 1,184 pounds, with the two 2x4 props that keep the lids up while unhooked.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I am still trying to figure out what to buy.....

The more I look into root rakes and grapples, the more I realize that one style can't do all things, equally well. There always seems to be tradeoffs? I've been looking at other threads, links, websites, and attachments and I am now wondering about either Faver or TheRakeShop.com rakes? I don't think that I will be doing much back dragging, which makes me believe that having 2 independent upper clamps is the way to go (versus one long clamp), especially when moving large irregular sized objects such as brush piles and logs. I see the Faver rakes seem to have straight teeth on the bottom, while TheRakeShop.com rakes have curved teeth on the bottom. As one of the main functions for this rake will be to collect the encroaching tree limbs (and whole trees) from around my fields after they have been sawed off, which type of lower teeth (straight or curved) do you think would be better for this collecting function while driving forward? I basically need to have the point of the teeth just skim along the top of the ground and collect limbs and logs for piling/burning. For this tree limb collection function, am I correct in assuming that I should go with a rake as wide as my front tires?

Thanks again for the continuing guidance on this subject.
