Just purchased a jd 620 missing generator, pre owner had started to install a alternator. looking for wiring diagram on how to wire alt for negative ground tractor.

Not sure about 620 but 630s are positive ground.

The 620's were originally 6 volt positive ground.

These tractors were 12 volt positive ground. They originally used two 6 volt batteries wired in series, instead of one 12 volt battery. Why not just put a generator back on it? Makes it look better and the technology is sound as there are plenty of them out there still with generators today.

What are your plans for the tractor?
