this could be an interesting topic for someone to do some real research on. I'd be curious to read a good write up on it myself. (Yes, I am the ideal canidate to do this.. but i don't have time right now)
Every set of home made fenders that I have seen on any brand look like *hit. By far the best ones are the ones on Deeres (I hurts me to say that). They are black high impact plastic and the mounts are flexible.
There is a trick to running without fenders and I do this all the time when driving on the dirt road in a rain storm or after.....find every big puddle and run through it. Keeps the front glass washed and the mirrors too. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I wonder if Richard has a set languishing away in the barn that he might part with???
JD 8320 MFWD, JD 6415 MFWD, FEL, and cab, John Deere MFWD 4600, John Deere 4020, John Deere 4430, John Deere 455 mower, Deutz, and Gehl 4610 perkins skidsteer
Sorry Daryl. Mine are all on tractors. I could see what I could do about getting you a nice JD monogrammed set for Christmas though. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I guess you are right on the 4 wheel brakes it must be a engagement thing.I was comparing the Kubota's 8 speed shift without clutch to Deere's power-quad 4 speed shift w/o clutch, that's what i priced. The bi-speed turn is something i could do without and will be disengaged most of the time.If i could have bought the Deere for the same money i would have done just that. Both excellent tractors.
