JD 655 diesel making oil - Injector pump?

I understand you can shut down a runaway diesel if you can cut off the intake air - might want to know in advance how to do so.

Thanks Jim, That is well worth knowing. I will work out how best to be prepared for the eventuality. Nick

It is possible for fuel to leak into the crankcase thru the Inj pump. The Inj pump is driven by a cam in the crankcase.
Inside the Injection pump all it has is metal to metal valves and seats. If one of the seat/valves gets excessive wear fuel
can get past the cam follower and down into the crankcase.
Send your inj pump out for rebuild

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like an expensive injector pump rebuild is the next step.

Good luck,I got the same problem with my 4200,I parked mine and it's been sitting way over a year now.I need to get motivated,pull the pump and get it repaired.
