Just wanted to give an update on the 755 and say "Its alive!". I was able to get it started this past Saturday and drove it around my yard a few times. Some things I noticed on it:
Start up: I followed the operator's manual precisely and the engine fired up first time trying. A little bit of black smoke and that was it.
Power steering: Its great and I didn't anticipate how easy it would be to turn the steering wheel. My Cub Cadet zero turn is much more difficult to say the least.
Parking Brake: didn't think it worked but turned out it does just the lever doesn't move that far up.
Tachometer/Odometer: The tach isn't working and I'm pretty sure that the hour meter isn't as well. I'll have to look at fixing both in the future.
Loader: the loader works fine and is able to go up and down without any problems.
Hydraulic Lines: Surprisingly, no leaks on them which I was glad.
Front right tire: has a small hole in it that needs plugged. I'll get to this weekend.
Fuel tank: I knew I had to replace it going in and when I bought it, it came with a new one. The old one leaks pretty badly if filled to high. I'll hope to fix this by weeks end. The previous owner said that he ran out of gas one time and had to re-prime the fuel system which was pretty time consuming and painful. I'm hoping it won't be that bad.
Fuel pump: I noticed a little bit of fuel dripping from the line or the pump, not sure. I might buy a new clamp and see if that fixes it.
We didn't end up using the left over HyGard on the tractor because it looked like it had been previously opened and weren't really sure if it was hydraulic fluid. This set us back a week and last Friday, I stopped by the local JD dealer and bought 5 1 gallon buckets of low-viscosity HyGard. I ended up buying some diesel fuel treatment from Amazon and putting that in the fuel tank and didn't bother draining it.
Thank you guys for all the comments and help. And one quick question, does anyone know what these two metal pieces go to? They came with the tractor in a bin of screws and bolts.
And one last question, does anyone know or can recommend a place where I can get a replacement front grill? The OEM one is simply out of my price range and the best I've found is around 350 after market.
