Thanks Willl,

Your pictures cleared things up in a hurry. The issue appears to be the local JD Dealer sold us the incorrect kit. Would you happen to know the part number that you used ? The kit we were sold is BM18040. In my fumbling around I managed to find a couple more part numbers, BM18005 and BM18010 come up on the radar but I'm at a loss as to which one is correct.

Thanks a bunch !

Hey Dave,

Sorry, no numbers. It was a package.

As far as I can tell, one number is with loader controls, other with out.
(after rereading the above, I kinda went duh, huh ?)

After lengthy discussion with the local JD Dealer I been have given to understand the Power Beyond kit they sold me is the correct one. The hoses are supposed to wind their way up to the FEL quick disconnects. When using the Power Beyond connections, one is supposed to disconnect the hoses for the FEL "dump" hydraulics and connect the Power Beyond hoses into the "dump" connections.

This seem like a silly way to run a railroad since there are 3-point hydraulics already back there. I'll check with the dealer on the p/n s from the page in your last post and see if they are available.

We'll see.

I've seen those setups, kinda hokey.

Mine run exactly like the second pic in post #9

a power beyond plumbs into the main line from the hyd pump , and supplys full flow and psi to an attachment. running a back hoe of the bucket cyl lines sounds crazy to me ,unless Im missing somthing. are you going to tie the joy stick to the fender with a bungee to get constant flow?

BM18046 is NOT power beyond. It is another set of couplers for a rear mouned implment that does NOT have it's own valve. It allows connection at the rear of the tractor (you must disconnect any thing connected to the mid couplers) (the loader function these lines tie into) Consider it a T for both lines from one SCV. One branch of the T goes to the midmount coupler and the other to the rear (what BM18046 adds)

BM18005 is what JDparts list for the 790 power beyond, Check and see if it's discontinued.

BM18010 is what JDparts lists for 770 thru 1070 and 890-990 power beyond.
Not sure if it would work on a 790.

Thanks for the info. Using BM18046 to run hydraulics to the rear of the tractor for an attachment that has a complete set of valves, etc. makes little sense to me. I think before I'd install it we'd be better off ordering each of the individual parts in BM18005.

Thanks,

First, thanks to everyone for their assistance on this issue. I'd still be running in circles if it weren't for the assistance from you guys.

After a series of long conversations with the folks at the dealership, it turns out that kit BM18005 is still available. Tho expensive at $285, this is a much better solution to what I thought from the on set to be a very simple problem.

Thanks !
