So, back from dealer. Delivery on the 1000 series has been delayed. Fine by me, my stuff won't fit anyway. By mid-week will have a new 2520 sittin in the garage with 61" bucket, 72" backblade and 54" snow blade, ballasted rear tires (Rim-Guard) and the extra lighing the engineers (who apparently do not work at night) did not think we needed.
HUGE thanks to all for the advice and suggestions.
Great forum for idea exchange and will post the photo ASAP when I get the machine.

So tell us. Did you get a good deal?

Yup. Was below on-line price and had a number of throw-ins since this is the 8th piece of equip from this dealer. Plus 0% for 60 - if I can use someone else's money for a while for free ...
Also, looking into rebates and cash back offers. they are expecting some before end of month.

No, he did not. Will ask when I see him this week and you all know. He originally thought production issue. That is why JD is kicking about the ideas of $$ back and rebates. I really did not inquire further since, and you can imagine my excitement level, my attachments would not fit on the new 1000 series.

So what was the cost of your new purchase? Will help us use this as a buying tool.

Since the new 1000 series is a direct replacement for the 2305, if what I've heard is true, it seems very strange that your implements won't fit it all, but will fit the much larger 2520. JD sure gets some mileage out of those X-700 series attachments!

So, package reply and sorry for the delay. First the cost of the radiator, motor and labor was actually $10,500 (I know, don't spend the extra 500 all at once). Ins checked it out too, so I got the check, salvage on the tractor (resold it 12 hrs later) and new 2520.
Dealer looked into the attachments and it seems to be a space issue on the loader arms vs. the width of the new 1000's. The 1000's are in the new class of sub-compact utility tractors.
Final price inlc delivery (w/ smile), set-up, reballast rear tires (Rim-Guard), add'tl lighting, service plan, new mount kit for 54" snow blade, and full tank = $15K @ 0%.
Large amt to swallow, but here's to hoping THIS one lasts, cause we work 'em (don't make any $$ sittin in the barn).

Direct replacement-yes, but a whole new design...

That's one of the craziest engine failure theories I've ever heard! Sorry to hear it.

Good luck with the new tractor. After that problem and the $11K repair bill I would be seeing Orange. :)
