sbt,
When I went to Coastal, I went in to drive around a Kubota M4800. The salesman there knew more than I did, but that's not unusual since I have only "used" one tractor in my life, and that was my grandad's old Allis Chalmers. I'm in the market for a tractor at this time, and have been visiting ALL tractor dealers for all brands both here in FL and in TN, where my property is located. The salesman at Coastal was not too big on the JD products, and I thought it kind of strange that a dealer would have both JD and Kubota under the same roof. Sort of like cats and dogs living together, so to speak. I went to Green South to drive the Deere product, and the salesman there was knowledgable about the product, but when I asked him some questions concerning JD features vice Kubota, he got his manager to answer them, which I thought was nice. The manager had been a service tech for JD for quite a few years so knew the answers to my questions. I'm still going back and forth on which would be best, but I'm leaning toward the Kubota product, based upon simplicity of design. Like I said earlier, if you want the JD product, Green South seems to want to sell them , and said that they'll beat anything from Kubota/NH with a written quote from the other two on similar tractors.
