I have a JD 2210 with the 210 loader and i would like to buy a 5 ft curtis plow with hydrolic angle for it that mounts onto the loader arms. I have two problems. First off, I am somewhat new to hydrolics i've owned a tractor before and plow trucks but never got into them, so i cannot fuiger out how i would beable to add aux hydrolics to my tractor so i would beable to control the angle of this blade. I know some tractors have them already but i'm not sure of any on the 2210 and how would i beable to control them if i was able to find a way to add them. Second problem is mounting the plow to the front end loader. Curtis sells a mount for their plows that they call "John Deere 4000 & 5000 Series
Quick Attach Adapter Brackets" i'm not exactly sure what this means. so i'm wondering if anyone has any solution to the problem.

I have a Curtis snow plow on my Kubota B2910. When you purchase a blade direct from Curtis they will ask what size pins you have on your FEL. They provide 4 adapter plates that you attach to your loader with the bucket removed. The adapter plates are welded to the blade hardware. Here is a link to a picture of the adapter plates on my blade. Click Here The black area just to left of orange FEL is the adapter plate. Mane has been modified to fit my Quick Hitch. Just below the upper pin is a hole that shows up white. That is the original mounting hole in the adapter plate.
Curtis supplies instructions in their manual to use the dump side to of your FEL valve to operate angle. They provide a chain and hook to hold blade in the upright position. I choose to add a valve to operate angle. I am not sure what it would take to make this change on a JD . You could add an electric solenoid to run angle with the FEL joy stick.

There's a discussion about another owner with this next one up. He was using the curl hydralics on the FEL to turn the blade.

The 4000 series mount is a couple hooks at the top and a couple pins at the bottom of the back of the blade.

I priced the Curtis blades vs. buying a snow blade from JD. As I recall, the JD blades were about half the price. Think they were with their own arms and all. You have to remove the FEL and mount the blade with arms. You'll be paying a lot for the convenience of just unpinning the bucket and repinning a blade.

If you're not dealing with really deep snow, the FEL alone works great for clearing snow. If really deep such that the FEL won't work, you likely need a snow blower. I'd be inclined to have a rear blower and the FEL on the front.

I added a Electric Diverter to the Dump/Curl circiut on my 410 loader, which is very close to the 210 loader. You can view the post with pictures HERE

I also built a FEL plow for my loader, You can view that biuld by clicking HERE

How much does the Curtis unit weigh?

CTC,
IMHO, I think the FEL blades are too big for the 2210. I'm sure it would be less expensive in the long run, and better performance to buy the JD 54" quick hitch blade and use that. (changeover can only be 10 mins? at the most) It would be closer to the front of the tractor, less deflection when you hit a pile, also less chance of damaging your loader. The FEL blades from Curtis and Horst both weigh around 450 for the manual angling blade, plenty for the front of that loader, especially the way the weight is placed in front of the loader mounts.
again,
just MHO..

Yes i see your point but i already have the quick hitch 54 blade and i hate it. It has no lift height and what ends up happening is i'll push the snow into the pile and then since its so short it all comes over the top and then either i get stuck because all the snow is behind the plow and i can't back up or else all the snow just gets pulled back all over where i just plowed. But i see where your comming from and it is a good point thank you for the info.

I also have a Snowsport aluminum blade which mounts to a 2" receiver hitch. Bought a hitch which bolts under a step n tow bumper and mounted it upside down in the bucket. You get all the benefits of the height of the loader arms and don't sacrifice the utility of the bucket. It's a 7 footer but only weighs 125 pounds. This would easily solve your dilemma.

yup,

you got one,,

says so right there on the page,,

sorry i didn't see that.. and I'm sorry you don't like it, I understand your frustration (snow coming over the blade)..

maybe the 47" blower is worth considering? I use both on my 445, and with these deeper snows the past couple weeks, the blower has been much better for me, and the banks stopped building up. it just blows away in the wind.

the snow blowers look great but i can't really justify spending that much since i mosly do loader work in the snow with my JD. So i'm just looking for an easy way to plow the snow away then swtich to a bucket, quickley.

Not sure how into fabrication you are but I figured I would mention this. After using the FEL on my BX this winter and a rear blade I realized that a front blade would really be the best option for most snow clearing duties. The Curtis blades are nice but they are heavy and expensive. The option I have looked is using an ATV type plow blade and somehow adapting it to work on the FEL on my BX. The blades are cheaper than the Curtis setup and you can get a "Cyclone" style blade too ( One end higher than the other for channelling the snow as you plow). You would have to come up with some sort of custom mount to attach the blade to your FEL quick attach mounts though.
