I am looking to buy and upgrade from my current tractor. Around here there are Lease returns available that give discounts as a slight alternative to full pricing from the dealers, I have a couple of quotes 1 from Kubota L3800 " they say they can fix the jerk in the 3 point" Comes with a LA 524 loader $18,000.00, A quote from JD for a 3520 300X loader at almost $27,000.00 there are some things I like and dislike about each, Kubota possibily the 3 point jerk may come back and will I be subject to future repairs? JD no jerk, Kubota it has a bit less visibility when doing loader work , JD has slanted hood giving a few inches more visibility, Kubota Metal fenders and Hood "I defiantly like", JD high density plastic. I'm sure there are other differences that I have missed,, is the Deere worth the extra money?? any thoughts would help.

Guess I can only give an opinion, for what it's worth I think green is very overpriced, it all boils down to getting the job done . Of a cheaper tractor can do the same job and do it cheaper and last as long or longer, why not save money.i personally have a dk45 kioti and have never felt underpowered for any task I've asked of it to perform, and there cheaper than kubota. Just my opinion though, and I'm sure green owners will disagree.

I looked at both and bought the orange one almost two years ago. Love it!!!

Buy the one you like best. They are both good tractors!!!

Also, my L3800 doesn't have 'the jerky 3 pt hitch'...

That 18K price looks pretty good to. I paid 15k for mine with 14 hrs on it, but that was a couple years ago.

Are these prices for new or for lease return used.
If used how many hours.

I don't know about the $27K price on the 3520. Seems you could get a 5000 series with loader for that. But as usual it is hard to get an apples to apples comparison. The JD weighs at least 420 lbs more then the Kubota and when you are trying to pull something the weight to horsepower ratio does matter. Also the 3PH of the JD will lift 500 lbs more then the Kubota’s and the loader also will lift 230 lbs more then the orange one. So it comes down to what work you have for the tractor to do. Do you need to lift round 1000 lb bales onto a trailer or into a feeding ring? What do you want to hook onto, pick up and pull?
I'd let the work you want or need to do help you decide.

Having owned a 3520 with cab the narrow width was a major problem for me, very unstable on hill sides almost turned over several times. In time it got to where its usage fell off to almost nil so traded for something bigger. Just a thought

They both sound pricey to me especially the 3520. New are usually more expensive up here , maybe different out west. Price for used are similar though, they level off slower the further south you go sounds like.

You could get a fine low hours Kub MX or JD 5003 series for that price tag I think.

Did yours have the two position wheels or the eight position wheels that come standard with R1 tires and did you have it set to the widest position for what you had?

Dealer set wheels as wide as they would go, also wheel weights in addition to fluid that was added at time of purchase. Still not enough for me, but then do have lots of hills. Driveway to storage barn is 12.5 percent grade. This tippy feeling was real to me but others maybe not so much. The tractor was purchased new in 2006 and had R4 tires
