JD or Kubota

Dealer set wheels as wide as they would go, also wheel weights in addition to fluid that was added at time of purchase. Still not enough for me, but then do have lots of hills. Driveway to storage barn is 12.5 percent grade. This tippy feeling was real to me but others maybe not so much. The tractor was purchased new in 2006 and had R4 tires
I know how you feel. That is why I went with position eight (H) plus 4.1 inch spacers each side. I don't know as the Kubota L3800 can be set any wider then the JD. might even be less?

Isn't the 3520 more comparable to something like the Kubota Grand L3540 or L3940 rather than the standard L3800? Seems to me the 3520 has more bells and whistles than the L3800. Not that that's good or bad; depends on your needs, wants and budget.

I'd be wary of an L3800 with a jerky 3 point hitch. Apparently, there are some that jerk and some that don't. I'd look for one that doesn't. My understanding is that you need to hook up a mower or something heavy to the 3 point to test it, as testing it with nothing attached won't reveal whether it really jerks or not.

I also am beginning to look for a similiar tractor. I live within 3 miles of both dealers which makes parts availability good. Dad has always been a JD man and a Chevrolet man but I drive a Ford. .... So.. it's whatever I want I guess.

Today I found a Grand L 3540 with l724 Loader. "They are quickly becoming scarce" It was a lease return with 400 hours, drove it around the lot up and down some piles of dirt checking everything I could, I realized what I would be missing very quickly if I went with the L3800, anyway I couldn't leave without making the purchase. The dealer was motivated and as it was a lease return it comes a 2 year warranty. Going to have the dealer plum in the top and side tilts for the 3 point, R 4 industrial tires and heave duty loader bucket were part of the purchase price. The best thing is I did not spend any more than my best quote found on a lease return for a l3800 with 130 hours with the LA 524 Loader, The top and side tilts were extra of coarse. I cant wait for pickup day.
