I bought an old JD 246/247 planter. It's in pretty rough shape and I'm doing some rebuilding and refurbishing. The chutes in which the fertilizer flows through to the ground are metal spiral cylinders. Both are rusted beyond repair. I have seen some rebuilt planters that have plastic tubes that replace the metal ones. Are those available through JD? Are they possibly aftermarket replacements? If so, any ideas about where they can be found? Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated.

kensfarm.........Shoup carries some aftermarket plastic ones, not too expensive, about $6.50 each. I assumed they were the answer, but after looking at the way they need to attach at the bottom, I'm not sure. Go over to ytmag.com and read a similar post in the implement alley forum to the one I posted here. There were some answers and suggestions that might be helpful.
