The diagram for the 4th/5th kit, looks like it just hooks into the PB ports, so it would be necessary to have it already installed.
I plan to do something similar and just plumb another valve purchased at Surplus Center in order to get dedicated valves for TNT.

Interesting. Would the 4th and 5th still be #4 and #5 if there was no #3???
As for the power beyond requirement, I would check on that. The power beyond kit normally is nothing more than a kit that routes the hydraulic circuit to (QC) couuplers and then loop it back to where the circuit was going anyhow. I can't imagine why it would not be possible to install the 4th/5th in series into the circuit without adding the power beyond couplers and loop hose. But as James has stated, if you're taking it apart anyhow, there is no reason why not to install the PB option at the same time, provided of course, that it is still available. GET IT WHILE YOU CAN!!
