He showed me the information that JD had sent him. It said the deal was only for 4110 tractors. Then the dealer says,He told me he would check with Deere today. Finally, the dealers says, He said Deere told him what the deal is and I can get $500 off on my 4510.
Does the dealer really know here what big JD is telling him? I maintain in this thread that most dealers from the get-go didn't know what this rebate program was all about. Then, when elements start floating down through the dealer network, the rules seem to be so flexible it seems (at least from my viewpoint as a customer who just purchased a JD4710) the dealers are making up the rules as they go along. As much as I respect the John Deere brand name and quality of manufacturing, this is not a good way of doing business....when the customer doesn't know what to expect or if they are being deceived as some on this thread have alluded to. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
The other $200 was reserved if he did an open house.
There's nothing in the disclaimer about this $200 being linked to an open house. It implies that all the customer has to do is buy one implement and then the $200 goes into the customer's pocket. Here again, big JD is misleading the public if there are 'hidden' contingencies linking dealer 'participation.'
