JD & Titan Tires

I just dont understand why any one would buy one of those at Home deput vs a dealer. They are the same price as the dealer and at the HD you have zero chance of getting any help or service from them. I am not knocking HD. I buy my share of stuff from them but I would definitely NOT buy a JD from them. Dave

One time HD quoted a customer a lower price on a rear bagger than we could and to make matters worse the salesman said we did not have any in and she needed it right away.

I bought a JD lawn mower this past summer at my JD dealer and I asked the salesman about the Home Depot selling JD lawn mowers. He told me that any warranty work would have to be honored at the JD dealer, and I cannot remember if he said that the JD dealer would get a % of the JD lawn mowers sold through HD. I learned one thing when I bought my riding mower and that is all JD riding mowers have the SAME 2 year warranty on parts and labor that the JD tractors have,I thought that was pretty good.

""I'd rather have jap tires myself""

What do you think all the Firestone tires were that caused all the deaths and wrecks on the Fords???

As far as JD they already do everything that tres crow said. You can lease any equipment you want from them already. As far as parts go JD has the best parts line in the entire world. That is not from me that is from everybody in the business. You need a part for just about anything it is usually there that day or at the latest the following morning at 8am. You can order online, you can look at the schematics online, models, etc. You can pull up the catalogs or anything. There is nothing out there that even comes close to the deere parts line or the online services that deere provides. Not even auto mfg. have the level of online service that deere does. Deere has excellent loans, they have their own credit card for repairs, parts, etc. There isn't another tractor mfg. out there that matches it.

As far as service goes I will say you are right there. I do agree that deere needs to step up it's service and customer service as a whole. I have run into some great dealerships that go above and beyond but also some that still have the old mentality.

Deere corporate is changing. They offer very valuable invoice pricing to many corporations and the employees of that can take advantage as well.

As far as keeping up Deere is constantly on the cutting edge. Could they do more? Probably but what company couldn't.

The Kubota dealer in our area is what the deere dealer is in your area. They are rude, arrogant, have nothing in stock, and wouldn't give you a deal if you were their mother.

It's one thing to stir things up with fact but quite another when you stir things up with lies.

Yes but Japan owns the company. The tires were mfg and sold according to their specs. They were the ones responsible for the cost cutting measures that led to the failures.

One thing to remember about Home depot selling JD 100series lawn tractors is, the local JD dealer gets all the warrinty, and repair work for that tractor. I think one of the reasons in Deeres mind for selling entry level lawn tractors at HD is to get people into a deere tractor in the first place. When that customer buys his or hers first deere and they like it, maybe next time they will want a JD with some more options for instance a 200series, and for that they will have to come to a dealership to buy. See here you get a customer that might otherwise not ever step foot into a JD dealer. This is what I think deere was thinking when they decided to do the HD deal.

Ah, but when those things wont last over 5 years why are they going to want another Deere when their last one was crap? I know some people on this site have had good luck with the L100s but I have seen a couple in for repair already. We sold one to a customer and he came in to pick up his snowblower and I asked him how is L110 was doing. He said they had to replace the transmission at 7 hours. Might as well have bought a Murray and saved some money. I guess the Deere's are a little nicer than those though.
