jd2010 pto gear box removal

need to replace gear in pto gear box - looked at jd 2010 parts breakdown - looks like you remove 6 or 8 bolts and the gear box would come off - removed the bolts and found somethign is attached that parts breakdown doesnt show - when you move the gearbox back the engage lever moves foward - anyone know what i have to remove to get to what is attached to the gear box

If you're referring to the pto gearbox that I'm thinking about this linkage is attached.
