I have to put in a vote for the 54" front blade. I have plowed with my father's slighly larger machine(4115) and it's a blast. It's fun to plow and it can handle any storm(within reason). I imagine the 2305 will be close to as good.
As others have said a blower/thrower will handle the really big storms easier but how many of those come every year compared to the small storms that are more easily handled with a blade? My other major deciding factor would be price. The blade costs around $1,150 and with the leftover money you can buy other attachments.
The blade is faster for small to medium size storms and the thrower is faster on really large storms. I would go for a blade because I wouldn't care how long it took to clear the driveway and I would have more money in my pocket.
