What prices are you getting on each??? With what exact equip.

$15,500 for the JD4100 and $14,700 B7500. Both included FEL and 60"MMM R-4 tires. The B7500 also included foldable ROPS as the JD did not. However the JD dealer said price was good only till the end of the month. He quoted me a much higher price until i told him what i could get the b7500 for.

Wow, with all that said i will stick to the kubota's. Why did you decide on the B2410 over the B7500.
I'm hearing from the dealers there's a $2000 price jump between the two . From what i understand they can pretty much take the same implements. What did you pay for your 2410?

Hi Titanic, I think I have been asked this before but here goes again. For one thing, my dealer talked me out of the 7500 stating that it was not a big enough step up from the BX. Since I had originally tried out a slightly used 7500 before the BX I decided it was to narrow and tippy and I did not like the ground contact mower deck either. So this time around, with the intention of keeping the BX at least for a while or forever even, I felt the 2410 was a better step. The 2410 is a larger tractor than the 7500, same wheelbase but larger none the less. It has larger tires, it has a wider stance, more clearence, more cubic inches, a few more horses--two more PTO horses, a bit more torque, more fuel capacity, more 3-point capacity, a nicer seat, cool fender flares, a closed out panel behind the seat, more capable FEL and position control (which is very nice). It still has the ground contact MMM however--oh well.
It was about 1,800 dollars I think over the 7500, since I did not price the 7500 this time and forget the price from the first time I cannot be exact for you and I rather prefer not to provide exact numbers.
As to the 4100, it is a nice unit and I am sure if you ask this question in the JD forum they can give you some good reasons for their purchases also. I think JD has a new model that will be a better match for the 2410--will I get it over a 2410 Kubota -- no--but that is me--I like Kubotas but many people will find it very attractive I am sure--to each his own reasons and opinions.

Tres crows. Some corrections. The 4100 has all steel fenders and hood. It has 7.4 GPM hydraulic flow, which I believe is more than the B7500. And JD is coming out with a backhoe designed for the 4100, they say maybe later this year. That said, I'm not knocking the 7500. But the position control on the 4100 is mighty nice. I couldn't imagine not having accurate control over 3ph implements. Why does Kubota actually make such a thing as a 3PH without position control? This feature was invented back in the 1960s.

Actually the hydro model of the 4100 has only 5.1 GPM total flow, the 2410HST has 7.0 GPM total flow as does the 7500. This has been discussed before where it turned into a discussion of the meaning of "total". After further research I have decided total means exactly total /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif .
Glad to hear the 4100 has metal fenders and such, I may have been confused by some other JD that did not but maybe it was just such nice paint they looked plastic!
No, the 7500 does not have position control, many people do fine without it but it is handy, that is one of the reasons why I purchased the 2410. For people who do not need PC there is the 7500, they can save a pile of dough over either the 20 horse 4100 or the 24 horse 2410.

Um, I can think of at least one tractor that had position control in 1947. There were probably others, too.

It's simple, really. Draft control and position control require feedback mechanisms. If you leave them out all you need is a valve.

The TOTAL hydraulic flow is 7.4 GPM, the implement pump hydraulic flow is 5.1 GPM (from my owner's manual and the JD website)

I recenty went through the same "tractor shopping" dilemma.
I looked at the B7500 and the JD4100 and had these thoughts... The Kubota had more HP total (same PTO I think),
yet the JD was a much heavier tractor! I worried that on my hills thh smaller JD HP and much heavier tractor would result in me wishing for more HP! My final decision? I bought the Kubota B2410 for very little more money than I was quoted for the JD4100. For that I got postion control, 24 HP, etc...
I am very pleased with my final decision. If I had bought either the 4100 or the 7500 it would have been the 7500 since the Kubota prices I was getting were so much better. With the exception of position control I could not see any great benefit to justify the higher cost for the JD (with less HP), but I decided to have too much tractor rather than not enough.

TresCrows Thanks for the information its been helpful. I'm still undecided on the B7500 & 2410 but with this kind of info it won't be long before i buy.
