My father wants a new tractor and has found it difficult to find a 4100 as the supply is low and being replaced with new models. What is his best bet? What is the difference between 4100 and new models?

4110 has the same HP as the 4100, and is very similar in size. The 4115, has about 5 more HP. According to the JD PR person i spoke too. There are some changes but according to them they are essentially the same as the 4100. i would think youre dealer can still order a 4100. There is a shortage of HSTs, but I know there are 2 or 3 Gear version at "All Seasons" in MASS. That dealer will try to give you a good discount on them, as the 4100 model is now the 4110 and 4115. So most dealers that have any of the "old" 4100's are now really hot to sell them.

I was told by three dealers..Blackmount in Haverhill,NH there looking for there first 4110 to arrive first part of Febuary and 2 more the end of March.
R.N.Johnson in Walpole,NH said there first 4110 arriving 3 week in January maybe but plan to use it for a demo.
Hawkensen in Plymouth,NH said in a couple of months.
I would of thought w/the new 4110 John Deere would have a good supply for there dealers, mostly due to the time span for spring apporching.
Maybe it does make a differents in what region one lives in???

Thomas, BTW, I almost bought a BX2200 from Hawkensens in NH, but the 4100 was a better deal for me.

Thomas, All Seasons in Dartmouth. they have a couple of gear ,models in stock still, but I went witth the HST - resale value was the call. Otherwise I think i would have taken the gear model and got the 54" deck right away. As it stands I need to save up for a deck in 3.5 months. I may get my deck from Hawkensens though, as they may be cheaper overall, even with the 3 hour trip each way to get there. I will see at the time of purchase. I think that the purchase of a 4100, where you can find them is a good buy at this time as the dealers will be trying to run them out of the way of the 4110 and 4115s.

There is a new 4100 HST on a lot in southern Delaware at W.C. Littleton and Sons. It is loader ready, industrial R4s, priced under $12,000. I'd snap it up myself but I won't be ready until next winter.

Happy hunting
