Comparison JD4110 versus Kubota B7500

It does look a little funky, doesn't it? BH makes the tractor look pretty small. But they work great - I love mine /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

BACKHOES are nice, and i wish i could justify the cost for the amt. of time i would use it, but i can't /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif just remember that although they have BH for those size tractors they are not really made for a steady diet of BHwork, this of course is just MHO

They are both nice tractors and you would be happy with either one. The only possible concern I would have is what would happen to parts availability should Deere decide that someone other than Yanmar should be building their tractors....

Before I purchased my 4110, I looked very seriously at the 7500. I test drove one a couple of times and really liked it. I went JD because the dealer has an excellent reputation and is only 6 miles from my home.

A few things that I like better about my 4110:

Position Control - you can get by without but I think it sure helps you to minimize the stones in your yard while plowing the drive in the winter.

The twin touch hydro pedals were more comfortable to me.

I felt the seat was more comfortable.

Auto bleed fuel - just never let it run out and this option is a non-factor.

There were a couple of things I liked better about the 7500:

Full flat deck - the 4110 has a small hump.

Price - the 7500 was a little cheaper.

Good luck with your decision, both are great machines that will give you years of service.

Thanks for the information everyone. I have found this forum to be of immense value in learning about tractors.

We are still waiting for the JD dealer to get their stock in. They are a small town dealership, so I don't mind waiting since I would like to give them the business rather than go into the city (Calgary, Alberta) to the larger dealerships.

I do have a question though. In my reading of this forum, I see a number of poeple are also buying the mowers for the tractors.

I currently own a JD 345 which I thought I would keep to mow the lawn. The lawn is a bit hilly, but nothing to steep. I wasn't considering using the compact for mowing thinking it might be too large to do a decent job, and since I was considering the R4 tires, thought these tires might damage the lawn.

Am I out to lunch here? Should I consider getting a mower with the tractor and selling my JD 345 since it would be redundant?

If your current machine is adequate for your mowing needs and does it in a timely fashion, keep using it. I don't use my B2910 for mowing. I only mow about 2/3 acre and my small Honda lawn tractor has been doing that for 16 years now and just keeps on going strong.

I have, on occassion, found it handy to tow a 17 cu. ft. utlity cart behind my lawn tractor while using the larger tractor with loader and backhoe. For instance, when digging out an area to sink some landscape timbers, I scooped out the area with the backhoe and dumped the spoils in the cart. Worked really well.

Just my $0.02.

I traded my JD GT235 in on a new 4110. I decided to spend the $1700 or so on a 60" mmm instead of keeping my GT. My yard is also a little hilly, but I'm sure the 4110 with the mmm will do a good job mowing. When I test drove the 4110, I compared its turning radius with the 60" mmm to the turning radius of my GT235 with its 48" mower and they were nearly identical.
I have R4s on my 4110 and they don't harm the yard. Because the weight of the 4110 is a lot heavier than the GT235 was, I have to be more careful about driving on a wet yard. The 4110 will really dig in even if the yard is moderately wet.
All in all, I decided to trade in the GT235 because I didn't want to hassle with 2 machines to maintain.

I use to use an L2900 on about a 3/4 of an acre. It was easy on the grass. I am now using my B2910 on it which is smaller and lighter and it works great. The R4's won't hurt your grass unless its wet or you make a really sharp turn and a good rate of speed. The B7500 is smaller than the B2910 so I would imagine that to be even better on grass. I would sell the JD and get the finish mower. I would get a 5ft RFM. That is just my opinion. MMM cost more and are harder to unhook. They are about the same to use I think.
