JD4110 vs 4210

   / JD4110 vs 4210 #11
Generally speaking, you can run a 5"-6" chipper with less than the 17.7 PTO HP the 4110 has and it won't bog a bit. Most are spec'ed for 13-15 PTO HP for 5" self-feed. The bigger 8"+ chippers need over 22 HP. At that diameter, you are chipping logs, not sticks.

The big issue here is ground engaging work, as several have said. I've been working pretty hard with a 5-foot box blade and 53" bucket on the loader for my 4110 and I'm very pleased. The 4115 and 4210 will just do it a bit faster, and can take a bigger/deeper swath. If money and size application are not the issues, buy the bigger tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If you are operating on rough ground the weight is much easier on your back.
I had to get rid of my Kubota BX, one reason being was I was thrown around
like a rag doll using it to dress up the areas I tore up with my L35.

I went with the 4210 for a number of reasons and although it is no
L35 loader wise, I could be happy sitting on it and watching
a ball game or reading. Completely different feel then the 41xx
tractors.
