But the light switch would not control brake lights not working. Sounds like possible ground wire issue to me. Most of the light bulbs are controlled by 2 or more wires running to each lamp. The grounds are run back to a centralized grounding block. If you lose ground to this none would work. Ive seen this in trailers and older cars. When I reestablish a temporary ground on one light, the rest start working. Worth a try
Sorry, our tractors don't even have brake lights. But usually brake lights run through the turn signal system. Turn signals are usually the brighter element in a 2 element bulb (same element as brake lights).
Our tractor was having lighting issues, and I took apart the main rotary switch and cleaned it and it worked.
